Coffee talk this morning.
Do you ever hear a song, that you feel like you live?
I do quite often in the "Gospel Hymns" we don't sing anymore.
A man from Guitano Mississippi, J.B. Coats wrote one, that folks there still live. Some of us, not there anymore live it elsewhere.
Where could I go? (but to the Lord).
1 Living below in this old sinful world,
Hardly a comfort can afford;
Striving alone to face temptation sore,
Where could I go but to the Lord?
Refrain:
Where could I go? Oh, where could I go Seeking a refuge for my soul?
Needing a friend to save me in the end, Where could I go but to the Lord?

# # # Many songs of praising God are nice to sing. When the trials of life come at us, (like being run over like a freight train), sometimes it is on your knees, having a little talk with Jesus, is the only way to make it right.
Another song that I live, Bill Monroe recorded. "It’s Me Again Lord".
Troubles come and I can’t find an answer Lonely nights I spend in agony
I have no other friend that I can turn to So here I am Lord back upon my knees
It’s me again Lord I’ve got a prayer I need an answer
It’s me again Lord I’ve got a problem I can’t solve
Well I don’t mean to worry you but here I am facing something new
And I need help that only comes from You
it’s me again Lord.
Matthew 11:28–30: Jesus says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Psalm 55:22: The Old Testament teaches, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you."1 Peter 5:7: Believers are encouraged to cast "all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you."
# # # On the mountain, I can raise my hands in praise, shout " Glory Hallelujah " celebrating our Lord, but I also can be humble on my knees, knowing I need devine intervention. Being honest about my "weaknesses" brings His "Greatness".
Which brings me back to the songs:
Where could I go but to the Lord, so It's me again Lord.
I find so much assurance in many of the Hymns of my childhood. When I'm getting infusion, the Hymns of old and the talented music therapist have such a calming effect. Anxiety fades away.
I will close, just wanting to share, those songs of old still carry a message even to today.

A sensitive subject is on my mind today. Several times, this past year, I have encountered someone who had committed something they didn't feel it was forgivable. There is only one unforgivable sin and it is a spirutal sin, not something you physically do on earth. I'm not here to condemn, but to inform someone carrying a burden, a pardon is available. The first step, to being pardoned is true regret, and sorrow for what you did.
1 John 1:9 (ESV):"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Society ranks sin in severity, whereas any sin is intolerable by God. The good news is the blood of Jesus can wash any sin away.
Breaking any of the ten commandments is sin.
Under some circumstances divorce is a sin, that action can be forgiven.
Remarry after a divorce, can be forgiven. Theologians and many Ministers agree that the remarry, is a "Binding Covenant". Once you marry after a divorce , God views that new commitment as real and legal. It is not an Ongoing Sin. Even if a divorce or a remarriage happened outside of biblical guidelines, theologians note that the remarriage is a one-time event,
not a continuous sin, that you must undo by getting another divorce.(another sin)
After repentance there is a "Call to Honor". The standard in Scripture is to stay committed to your current spouse and honor your present marriage in peace before God.
An abortion is another sin that can be forgiven.The Apostle Paul murdered Christians, and was forgiven. Abortion is not a greater sin than Paul's sin.
I believe that repentance is available at any point in our life. Satan would like you to believe you are unredeemable, and not use your birthright of freewill. At anytime, you can exercise you faith, confess, repent, and start living for Jesus.
Acts 2:38 (ESV):"And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"
The Holy Spirit is the guiding force to the victorious Christian life.
"All" is anything you could have committed, and we read (1 John 1:7: "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.")
Don't let Satan lie rob you of the peace and joy found by faith in Jesus. There is a coming Judgement, and accountability of those with "sins" charged to them. As we read in Romans, we can be saved from that wrath of God's Judgement.
(Romans 5:9: "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.")
Many of my readers, are right with God, live by faith, and pray for us needing prayers. Today I ask you to pray for those with burdens, that they may find the redeeming faith that you found. Spreading the good news is part of our Great Commission summed up in a few scriptures.
Acts 4:12 (ESV): Proclaims salvation is found in no one else.
John 14:6 (ESV): States Jesus is the way, truth, and life.
Ephesians 2:8–9 (ESV): Explains salvation is a gift of grace through faith, not works.
Romans 10:9 (ESV): Connects confession and belief to salvation.
Romans 6:23 (ESV): Contrasts the wages of sin with eternal life in Christ.
John 3:16 (ESV): Emphasizes God's love and eternal life for believers.

With new readers finding me, I like to cover some basic doctrine, as a refresher for some and teaching for others.
In the late 50's ans 60's the blood of Jesus was preached from the pulpit often. We understood that the blood of Jesus was sinless, yet shed for us. Under the Jewish covenant, the sacrificial lamb was a temporary deferment of sins punishment, until the coming of the Messiah to redeem humans. Jesus was God's final sacrifice, his blood contained the lawful requirements to pay the human sin debt. Jesus being born of the seed of Eve, inherited the birthright of dominion, of planet earth. Jesus being fully God, would not be under the sin curse, as God being His Father. Our Christian theology teaches that sin is a moral violation against God's holiness, and the "wages" or penalty for sin is spiritual and physical death, "separation from God". (Romans 6:23).
Because humans cannot fix or pay off this infinite spiritual debt on their own, Jesus Christ—described as sinless and fully God in human flesh—voluntarily stepped in as a substitute. On the cross, Jesus bore the judgment, suffering, and penalty for human sin.
Bible verses about the blood of Jesus focus on forgiveness, redemption, cleansing from sin, and the new covenant:
(Ephesians 1:7: "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.")
This verse not only notes redemption, but also the abundance of mercy and grace, available from the riches in Heaven. Nothing you could have done physically that the blood of Jesus can not wash spotless.
(1 John 1:7: "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.")
All means everthing!
We become a clean vessel, sanctified and justified, ready for the Holy Spirit to occupy. Not because of what we didn't do, but because of what Jesus did.
(Matthew 26:28: "For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.")
Communion or Lord's Supper is a symbolic remembrance of the blood covenant.
(Romans 5:9: "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.")
There is a coming judgement, and by Faith, we are justified. That means we do not have charges, to be punished for. Goes on to say
"we shall be saved from wrath through Him"
(Hebrews 9:22: "And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.")
This verse explains that without Jesus's Blood, there is no remission of sin. This confirms Jesus is the only way. The last verse tells it all!
(Revelation 12:11: "And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.")
So what are the elements of being an overcomer?
Faith to get the blood applied and the word of your testimony. So as a preacher, I must ask, do you have a testimony, and are you sharing it? Jesus took his deciples to the side, near the end of His ministry. Jesus wanted them to know, that as He transitioned from His earthly ministry to being our advocate, sitting by the Father, we would not be alone. A gift from God was coming. Jesus assured us that He would answer prayers, in the Name of Jesus, in this "Spirutal War". This is not about our mortal wants, but about the Father being glorified through the Son. This is informs us we are the restrainer against this evil empire.
(John 14: 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.)
Be clear, this is a petition (prayer) to the Father, in the name of Jesus, and not to any human that has ever lived, including Jesus's earthly mother.
(John 14:14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.) Jesus goes on to note that "obedience" is the evidence of a relationship with Him.
(John 14:15 “If you love me, keep my commands.) Obedience to Jesus"s commandments is the evidence that you love Him.
(John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever) The Holy Spirit is called the "Spirit of truth". This keeps us from being deceived. It is the "life, truth, and power to make us an overcomer, victorious as a Christian in this evil world.
(John 14:17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.)
Our peace, love, and joy is by the Holy Spirit living within us. The inner voice of the Spirit exposes the deceptive circumstances of the evil enities. In verse 21, Jesus repeats what was said in verse 15, so it must be important. He also gives us a promise, that obedience brings love from the Father.
(John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”) Then in verse 26 Jesus emphasizes the Holy Spirit as a teacher.
(John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.)
Verse 27 verifies Peace comes from Jesus through the Holy Spirit living in us. We should not be afraid, fearful, as we have the Blessed Hope. We exit before the coming Judgement.
(John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.)
Seeing the prophecies fulfilled has to be a faith builder. Jesus came as the prophets predicted, paid the sin debt, and said He is coming back for us. That is our "Blessed Hope".
(John 14:29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.)
In my previous posts, and many videos on the social media platforms, list many prophecies being fulfilled.
Jesus told the deciples about the end-time prophecies in the Gospel of Matthew (found primarily in Matthew 24-25) and we see them happening today. For the Christian, this should excite you, as our Jesus is coming soon.

Something I caution us about, we reading into a scripture, an implied meaning, that not directly said.
Never let personal opinions affect your faith, only doctrines backed up by scripture.
It is easy, letting one scripture lead you to add something to a scripture, that it is assumed and not directly said.
Ok Preacher, give me an example!
Not sure I'm following you?
1 Corinthians 15:52 NIV
52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
*** Now the only "thing" this verse says is " in the twinkling of an eye" "we will be changed." It does not say how fast we accend to meet Jesus.
The next verse tells us what it changed.
1 Corinthians 15:53 NIV
53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
**** In an instant from mortal to immortal. Next verse gives the order that it it happens?
1 Thessalonians 4:15 NIV
15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
*** Only information given here, is dead in christ are resurrected first, before we are called up.
No "time table" is given as to how fast it all occurs, only the conversion is called out "as in an instant" the "twinkling of an eye:.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 NIV
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
*** While the resurrection of the dead in Christ is taking place, we will be in our glorified body, waiting our turn, since our conversion took place in an instant.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 NIV
17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
*** This verse says that while (the resurrected) are assembled in the sky, "we join them in the sky."
Again, It does not give us an exact time table as to how long that ascension will take. Also it "does not" tell us if the world, will witness the graveside opening, the resurrection and our ascension.
There are two scriptures, that most scholars agree refers to Jesus coming back with the Church to the Mount Of Olives and not refering to the Rapture.
(Revelation 1:7:"Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.")
(Zechariah 12:10:"And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son...") Most agree this is when we come with Him at the end of the Tribulation.
Will the doctrine I was raised to believe happen? ("flash,' I'm in the air.)
That scenario, is not disputed in the Bible nor does it support it without doubt. Actually we aren't told.
So if the world "does get to witness" our departure, it could explain this group who are saved during the Tribulation.
(Revelation 7:9)
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
Revelation 7:13-14
13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”
14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”
And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
*** Can you imagine, if the world, is a witness to Jesus appearing in the sky, and with the voice of the" Ark Angel' says " Come " and the Graves pop open, dead people come out and start ascending. All the Christians are transformed before there eyes and follow the resurrected Christians in the sky. This would not be contrary to the bible either. If it happened, would many pretending Christians repent? Witnessing this, they would realize the Gospel was true, and they knew of Jesus but didn't know him personally.
I write this to say, (sometimes things we were taught), some teaching may have elements, that are not be addressed in the bible, but Christian have accepted as gospel. Another example:
Luke 17:34-36 KJV
34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
*** once again, the only thing we are told is one is taken and one left, no other details are given.
Is this at the Rapture? Or is this after the tribulation? Maybe after the millennial reign, with the separating the goats from the sheep, at the Great White Throne of Judgement.
Most post-tribulational, theologians place this passage at the Second Coming of Christ, to earth, occurring at the very end of the Great Tribulation.
The Mechanics driving this view, those who are "taken" are taken away in judgment, while those "left" are the righteous who are left behind to enter and inherit the Millennial Kingdom on Earth.
Some theologian place it before the Tribulation (The Pre-Tribulation Rapture View) place this event at the Rapture of the Church, which they position, at the very beginning of the "End Times" timetable, prior to the seven-year Tribulation period.
The Mechanics driving this view, those who are "taken" are the righteous believers caught up to meet Christ in the air (as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:17), while those "left" are the unbelievers who remain on Earth to suffer through the Tribulation. They argue that the sudden, instantaneous separation of people in normal, everyday scenarios (sleeping in bed, working a mill) matches the "twinkling of an eye" description of the Rapture. They also point out that the text shows global simultaneity: one scenario happens at "night" (in bed) while others happen during the day (grinding grain, working fields), indicating an instantaneous global event spanning different time zones. While some theologian place it after the millennial reign, with the separating the goats from the sheep, at the Great White Throne of Judgement.
Ok Preacher, is there a position that is " Fail Safe" and where the theology doesn't matter?
Yes, there is!
It is being "Rapture Ready", so you are caught up and be with the Lord, to witness these happenings on earth from above.

I am so ready for my new body and join Jesus in the air.. I am definitely looking for the return of my Jesus. This cancer battle comes to an end, all pain, sorrow, come to an end. I will have the renunion with those who have "passed over" before me. Jesus was here, to take away the penalty of sin, to those who believe. When He comes back, it is to award our salvation, and welcome us into His Kingdom.
(Hebrews 9:28: "So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.")
The thought that we will be with the Lord forever more, getting to live in the Father's house is just too awesome to imagine.
(John 14:1-3: Jesus comforts His disciples by promising, "My Father’s house has many rooms... I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.")
This promise should comfort us too.
(Acts 1:11: Following Jesus' ascension, angels tell the disciples, "This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.")
All his followers, were there to witness the ascension, and the Angels telling the witnesses, Jesus is coming back in the same way as He left this earth.
When this battle starts to tire me, these are the scriptures that refresh me.These are the overcomer scripture, It's that assurance, this battle has an ending. Hebrews 9:28 identifies the crowd I want to be in.("to those who are waiting for him.")

Let's take a look at the sermon, that Jesus gave at the beginning of his ministry. Jesus had just launched His public ministry in Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, teaching in synagogues, and healing large crowds of sick and afflicted people (Matthew 4:23–25).
People flocked to Him from Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem, and beyond (Tyre and Sidon) seeking healing and deliverance.
When Jesus saw the immense crowds, He went up onto a mountainside and sat down—the traditional posture of a Jewish teacher or rabbi ready to deliver authoritative instruction.
He gathered His disciples close to Him (while the broader crowd listened in) and opened His teaching with the series of blessings known as the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1–12).
The Eight Beatitudes are eight blessings spoken by Jesus Christ during the Sermon on the Mount, recorded in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 5:3–10).
The Eight Beatitudes are;
Poor in spirit: Recognizing spiritual dependence on God; the full verse promises "theirs is the kingdom of heaven".
They who mourn: Grieving sin and the brokenness of the world, with the promise that "they shall be comforted".
The meek: Exhibiting humility and trusting God rather than self-assertion, inheriting the earth.
Hunger and thirst for righteousness: Deeply desiring God's will and justice, with the assurance they "shall be satisfied".
The merciful: Showing compassion and forgiveness to others to "obtain mercy".
The pure in heart: Having sincere, undivided devotion to God so that "they shall see God".
The peacemakers: Actively seeking reconciliation, being "called children of God".
Persecuted for righteousness: Enduring opposition for living out faith, with the promise that "theirs is the kingdom of heaven"
These eight principles sum up the core teachings of Jesus. Add the ten commandments and you have all the instructions to live a righteous life. To have the power to live the righteous life, is by being led by the Holy Spirit. This requires the faith in Jesus, to apply the blood and wash you sins away. Once the conversion in your heart, the Holy Spirit can reside in this new clean vessel, and guide you. We do not fight a physical battle, it is with "evil principalities", therefore against a higher intelligence than a mortal human. Being led by the Holy Spirit levels the playing field. The Holy Spirit exposes the deception.

Kinda a coffee talk this morning.
During a recent discussion the topic of the inner strength that I draw from came up. Many times the medical teams comment, "I don't act like, look like, what the chart shows, what I've been through". A short, but mighty verse, I lean on, is:
(Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".)
To have a doctrine, you have to have backup scriptures that tell of strength and endurance coming from our highest power, Almighty God.
(Isaiah 40:31: "Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint". )
I feel there steps in applying this scripture. First just read it, let it sink in. Then believe it, and next is the hard part, to apply it to your impossible circumstances. In the next verse, it points out the two levels of existence. We have a mortal fleshly reality, but there is another unseen reality, than can come from above.
(Psalm 73:26: "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever".)
"Truth Reigns" in the unseen reality, not in the illusion created by evil enities, to rob us of peace and joy. They set up deceptive circumstances to encourage to choose between a bigger or lesser evil. This is where FAITH, comes to the rescue. Faith is a strong belief or complete trust in a "Bible Truth", often held without physical proof or absolute certainty.
(Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".)
Our own logic, is often a hindrance to a blessing from heaven. It is difficult to process something that makes no physical sense.
(Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.")
Our moral minds are incapable of understanding the magnitude of the awesomeness of the almighty. God keeps it simple for us, as in the next verse.
(Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.")
With the back up verses the original verse I quoted, comes alive, yet short and to the point.
(Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".)
Even when I'm the patient, I do have something to share. It's how to be victorious in dire circumstances. The true reality, is that as I may appear broken, yet I can be spirutally blessed, above the mortal deception, others around me see. I'm not special, just a struggling sinner, who is so appreciate of the wonderful mercy and grace that faith brings me. The gift of the Holy Spirit, is a overflowing supply of living water that this mortal body can't produce. It available to all through faith, and faith I can share.
I'm closing I always encourage you to stand firm in your faith, as there are an abundance of benifits in the faith arena.

May the Lord bless and keep all, who pray for me. Thanks again for the prayers. Oncologist visit was positive and infusion was smoothe. Being a minister, I many times, get to give, even thought I'm the patient.
Yesterday, I was ask about question about if a Christian sin, the kind of slip-ups we all have do.
Do I lose my salvation every sin?
To a young Christian, this is a puzzling questions.
God doesn't tolerate sin?
I just sinned, am I headed to Hell?
If I repented, then the sin is forgiven? What saves me? What condemns me?
How do I know if I'm forgiven for all my sins?
I will discuss why I have this understanding, and the scriptures that brought me to that understanding. Freewill entitles to choose your own belief.
First understanding, is to answer the salvation question and then understand obedience, that bring on chastisement, unless forgiven.
Salvation is answered by Faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV:
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.)
Grace is God's unearned favor and gift to humanity, meaning it cannot be bought, earned, or merited through human effort. Your good works cannot save you! Your sin cannot condem you. Your Faith brings the blood of Jesus to washes away and covers your sin from judgement. It becomes an obedience issue as you have moved from "rebellion against God" to a Child of God. You have justification and sanctification (mercy & grace) in the gift from God. It not what you do that makes you Holy, it is What Jesus did.
Faith in Jesus is the "trusting response" by which a person receives God's free gift of salvation.
Not of Works as "Salvation" is independent of human good deeds or religious rituals, ensuring no one can boast or take personal credit for being saved.
This conversion creates an own going process of retraining our mind and soul, for good works. It is a transforming process, becoming to a likeness of Jesus Christ.
As verse 10 continues, believers are subsequently recreated in Christ to do good works. Which God prepares in advance for them to walk in the Spirit of Christ, then good works are the result and evidence of salvation. Good works are not the cause of Salvation.
In a parable terms:
Go ahead and confess, so the ruler is not applied to be back of the hand, and it not about getting thrown out of class. We are expected to fail since we are in this cursed mortal body. In the model prayer, in the middle of it, debts (sin) is addressed. The more forgiving us when we are the more forgiving like God . This does not point to or address a "point" of losing salvation, it points to a Father's disciplinary actions.
The Bible always give you a safe path to follow:
1 John 1:9: Confessing sins brings God's faithful and just forgiveness and purification.
Psalm 103:12: God removes our transgressions as far as the east is from the west.
Isaiah 43:25: He blots out transgressions for His own sake and remembers sins no more.
Micah 7:18: Praises God as unique in His pardon of sin and forgiveness of His inheritance.
And "Forgiving Others" apoears in the New Testament.
Ephesians 4:32: Calls believers to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving as Christ forgave them.
Colossians 3:13: Encourages bearing with and forgiving others as the Lord forgave you.
Matthew 6:14-15: Notes that forgiving others leads to receiving forgiveness from our heavenly Father.
Matthew 18:21-22: Relates Jesus's teaching to forgive limitlessly, up to seventy-seven times.
Mark 11:25: Advises forgiving others while praying so that heavenly forgiveness may be granted
It is "amazing" the relief in the eyes, of this one, who just realized, that their salvation is secured by their faith, not their actions.
It was the look of dropping a heavy backpack before a hike up a steep mountain trail.
Realizing the relationship with Jesus provides forgiveness to miss the chastisement and that is different from rejecting God's Son.
