I have been surfing "sermon videos", and I'm suspicious, that a major part of the Christian message has gone missing.
There is a common message out there, "to come as you are". The gospel song "Just as I am" is biblical correct.
The item I see missing is "repentance".
Lucifer and the demons believe Jesus is real. Just beliving Jesus existing will not save you.
There has to be a "sorrowful regret" for the sins, you have comitted and will commit. You can come as you are, but if there is a "conversion" in your heart, that is you are "born of spirit", there is a change in your desires.
The attitude I see in many video's is "come as you are", and we have love enough to accept you as you are.
A universal acceptance theme and no transformation preached.
Romans 8:6: reveals that “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” This verse shows that shifting your focus to the Spirit changes your inner state.
2 Corinthians 5:17: reads “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” This highlights a total life change through faith. And for the third scripture in Romans 12:2: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
This explains the process of mental and spiritual change in the life of a true beliver.
Repentance is not being preached.
Under the "leadership" of the Holy Spirit, you will see a progressive change in your life as you conform to the image of Christ Jesus. The bible tells there is a sign, that bears witness to the truth of conversion.
Matthew 7:15-20 NKJV
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16 You will know them by their fruits.
Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17 Even so,every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, norcana bad tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
*** Not only is this a measure for all those in service to God but every Christian should be bearing good fruit. I will close with this statement, If you are indeed, not of this world, then you should not look, act, or fit into this evil world system. I encourage you for self- examination, and praying for help with the "worldly things" that have slipped your life.
Repentance is an ongoing part of our walk with the Lord, as we will fail, in this mortal body. This isn't just doctrine, but also from my life experiences.
Time to clean up, put on our spirutal wedding clothes, Jesus is coming soon.
