💙 Roscoe is Looking for the Right Forever Home... Again 💙

Roscoe was adopted a few years ago and has been deeply loved by his family.

Unfortunately, as their young children have grown, it's become clear that the busy, unpredictable nature of life with toddlers is simply not the right fit for him. His family has made the incredibly difficult and selfless decision to help him find a home where he can truly thrive.

Roscoe is an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy whose favorite place is right by his people. Whether he's snuggled up on the couch, heading out for a walk, or playing a game of fetch or hide-and-seek, he's happiest when he's spending time with the people he loves. He has a gentle heart and genuinely wants to make his humans happy.

Like many dogs, Roscoe has a few quirks. He gets excited when visitors arrive and may greet them with enthusiastic jumps, but he's eager to learn and responds well to reminders like "no" or "leave it." He's also a foodie and may check the kitchen counters for snacks if given the opportunity, though he knows the rules and redirects easily.

Roscoe gets along well with other dogs when introductions are done properly. He could use a little polishing on his leash manners around unfamiliar dogs, and because he has shown some food guarding with other dogs, he simply does best being fed separately. He has never shown food aggression toward people. Even better? He's wonderful with cats!

There are a few things that truly scare Roscoe. Thunderstorms, fireworks, and vet visits are very stressful for him. His family has worked closely with their veterinarian and uses anti-anxiety medication before appointments, but these situations will likely always require extra patience and understanding.

Roscoe has also shown that he is uncomfortable around very young children. While he has never bitten or hurt a child or adult, he communicates that toddlers make him uneasy. Because of this, we're looking for a home with children 10 years or older, or an adult-only home where he can relax and feel secure. If you have occasional younger visitors, he could just be kenneled during that time.

His dream home would include:
🐾 A fenced yard or room to run and play
🐾 A family who enjoys walks, hiking, and outdoor adventures
🐾 Older children (10+) or adults only
🐾 People willing to continue providing the love, structure, and guidance that help him succeed

Roscoe isn't being rehomed because he's a bad dog. Quite the opposite. He's a wonderful dog who simply deserves a home that matches his needs.

If you think Roscoe might be the missing piece of your family, we'd love to hear from you. Sometimes the best happy endings take a different path, and we know his perfect match is out there waiting. ❤️

💖 Meet Zola: Looking for the Right Kind of Forever for a Deaf sweet doggie💖

Zola thought she had found her happily-ever-after.

But sometimes love isn’t enough if the fit isn’t right.

After going home, it became clear that the busy, high-energy environment was simply too much for her. Zola gets overstimulated when life gets chaotic, and while this wasn’t anyone’s fault, it means she’s once again searching for the family she was always meant to have.

At just 2-3 years old and 40 pounds, Zola has so much love packed into her little body. She raised six beautiful puppies (our famous Z Pups! 🐾), watched them find families of their own, and now it’s finally her turn.

One of the things that makes Zola extra special is that she’s deaf. But don’t let that fool you. This girl is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and loves working with her people. She responds beautifully to her training collar and thrives when given guidance, routine, and love.

✨ Zola’s Highlights ✨

✔️ Deaf but highly trainable and eager to please
✔️ Fully potty trained
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Good with dogs
🚫 Although she has sometimes done ok with them cats are a no-go to be safe. She tries to play too rough
✔️ Best with calmer, older kids who can respect her boundaries and playful, sometimes mouthy terrier personality
✔️ Loves walks, adventures, and car rides
✔️ Equally happy to curl up for couch cuddles afterward

Zola loves with her whole heart. She wants to be with her people. She wants to go on adventures, play hard, and then snuggle up beside you at the end of the day. She isn’t looking for a perfect family. She’s just looking for the right one.

After spending so much of her life taking care of everyone else, Mama Zola deserves someone who will choose her, understand her, and love her exactly as she is.

Could that be you? 💕

If you’re pre-approved, send us a message or apply today at newleashdogrescue.com.

💲 Adoption Fee: $200

Includes spay, microchip, current vet check, UTD vaccines, and current heartworm test.

💕 MAMA COCO’S BABIES FOUND THEIR HOMES… NOW IT’S HER TURN! 🏡🐾

Sweet Mama Coco came to us as a local surrender when her owner was no longer able to care for her and her puppies, Justice & Liberty. Her babies have found their homes, and now it’s time to find the perfect family for Mama! 💗

Coco is approximately 35 lbs and we think she may be a Lab/Terrier mix, but as always, breed is our best guess!

🐾 Potty trained
🐾 Crate trained
👧 Kid friendly
🐱 Cat friendly
🐶 Can be dog selective, so proper introductions are a must
🛋️ Would likely do best with a calmer, lower-energy dog or may be perfectly happy as the only dog

Coco has finished raising her babies and is ready to trade mom duty for the good life. She deserves a home where she can finally be the one getting spoiled. 🥰

💰 Adoption fee: $200
Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip, UTD vaccines, heartworm test, and current vet check.

💕 Meet Arwen! 💕
(formerly known as Chrissy)

Arwen's family has an unforeseen family medical issue that has come up and they just don't have the time to devote to a puppy—so are asking for our help in finding her a foster or other adoptive home.

Arwen is about 12 lbs of puppy cuteness and is proving to be one pretty fantastic little girl! 🥰

She’s currently living with kids ages 1 and 6 and has been wonderful with them. Like any teething puppy, she can still get a little nibbly, but her foster family is working with her on those puppy manners.

🐾 A little more about Arwen:
• Does very well with other dogs
• Loves to snuggle AND play
• Getting really good at potty training and sometimes makes it the entire day without an accident! 🎉
• Sleeps in a kennel at night
• Food motivated, which makes training a whole lot easier
• Already knows “sit”
• Loves fetch, playtime and going for walks
• Does well on leash... although she sometimes prefers to hold her own leash. Apparently she has opinions about who should be in charge of the walk. 😂
• She’s a very quiet girl and rarely barks... unless you happen to be a broom. The broom is suspicious and must be told about itself. 🧹🤣

Arwen is that wonderful puppy combination of playful, affectionate, curious and cuddly. She’s still young, so she’ll need a family ready to continue working on potty training, puppy manners and all the other things that help a little pup grow into an amazing adult dog.

And according to her current family, she is very, VERY cute. We’re inclined to agree. 💗

💰 Adoption fee: $250
Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip, UTD vaccines, and current vet check.

🐶 If you’re already preapproved, message us! Otherwise, apply at newleashdogrescue.com.

🐾 THREE LOCAL PUPPIES NEED FOSTER HOMES! 🐾

Meet Cookie, Petey & Pancho! 💕 These adorable local pups are looking for separate foster homes so we can get them officially into our rescue, get their vet appointments taken care of, and then get them posted for adoption!

🐶 Cookie – Female, brown & white
🐶 Petey – Male, black & gold
🐶 Pancho – Male, white with black markings

🎂 DOB: 5/11/26
🧬 Breed: Miniature Aussiedoodle/Bohemian Spotted Rottweiler mixes
⚡ Personality: Playful, higher-energy puppies who are ready to have some fun!
We would like each puppy to go to a separate foster home, where they can get individual attention, work on all those important puppy skills, and get ready for their forever families.

💗 Thinking you might want to adopt one? FOSTERS GET DIBS! Fostering is a great way to get to know your potential new family member before making it official.

Once they're in foster care, we'll work on getting their vet appointments scheduled and getting them ready to be posted for adoption.

We need a driver to take a load of dogs to the vet next Tuesday, September 1st. The dogs have to be loaded at 5 am in Onalaska and be taken to Sheffield, Iowa (about 3 hours away) for their vet appointments. There is an adorable coffee and gift shop in Sheffield to hang out at while you wait for the dogs to be ready to be picked up. And once they are done, you head back to Onalaska. The driver usually gets back early to mid afternoon.

We do have a rescue van that can be used for drivers with a clean driving record. Please PM us if you can help. Thank you!

🥬 DOUBLE THE PUPPY LOVE: ROMAINE & ZUCCHINI NEED US! 🥒🐾

These adorable siblings are hoping to join New Leash On Life, but each needs a committed foster or adoptive home first! ❤️

💙 Romaine — Male
💗 Zucchini — Female

🐶 About 3 months old
⚖️ Around 12–15 lbs each
🧬 Possibly Shepherd mixes, but as always, breed is our best guess!
💰 $250 adoption fee each

They’re young puppies with lots of learning and growing ahead of them. Their future families should be ready for all the usual puppy adventures: potty training, routines, socialization, playtime, snuggles, and maybe a little harmless chaos sprinkled in. 🐾😆

They do NOT need to be fostered or adopted together. Each pup just needs someone willing to give them a safe place to land so they can make their way to Wisconsin and join our rescue.

🏡 Can you foster Romaine or Zucchini?
❤️ Ready to make one part of your family?

If you’re already preapproved, message us! Otherwise, apply at newleashdogrescue.com.

Their $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, UTD vaccines, and a current vet check.

🥬🥒 Two little veggies looking for two big chances. Who can help us get them here? 🐶❤️

Shylah looks shepherd but is JUST 40 lbs. She’s been a great girl but hasn’t had a SINGLE inquiry.

💕 MAMA SHYLAH IS READY FOR HER FOREVER HOME! 🐾

Shylah has finished her mama duties, and now this incredibly sweet, gentle girl is ready for someone to spoil HER. 🥹💗

At only about 40 lbs, Shylah is a perfectly sized little lady. We’re guessing she may be some type of small Shepherd mix, but breed is just our best guess!

🧸 Shylah’s favorite things:
• Squeaky toys! The squeakier, the better. 😂 She’ll bring them to you to play or carefully hide them around the house for safekeeping.
• Being wherever her people are. She’s perfectly content just hanging out nearby.
• Morning snuggles! This is when her inner cuddle bug really shines. 🥰
• Meeting new people and happily saying hello!
• Sitting by the window so she can supervise everything happening outside. 👀

🐶 Shylah is good with other dogs and could happily share her home with a canine friend.

She is fully potty trained and walks nicely on a leash with just a little pulling. She may voice a few complaints when first kenneled, but she settles fairly quickly.

Car rides are still a little unfamiliar to her. She can be hesitant about getting in, but once she’s aboard and you’re on the road, she rides calmly. 🚗

More than anything, Shylah is an affectionate, gentle girl who loves being close to her humans and will happily soak up every bit of love you’re willing to give her. She’s done taking care of babies. Now it’s finally her turn to be someone’s baby. 💕🐾

💰 Adoption fee: $200
Includes her spay, microchip, UTD vaccines, heartworm test, and current vet check.

This boy is still needing a foster or adoptive home so he can join the rescue before the end of the month

🚨 TUBBS NEEDS A foster or adoptive home BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH! 🚨

This handsome youngster has already spent far too much of his short life in a shelter. Tubbs grew up in the shelter until just a few weeks ago, when a wonderful temporary foster in Texas gave him his first taste of home life. 🥹💙

Unfortunately, his foster cannot keep him past the end of the month. If we don’t find Tubbs a committed foster or adopter, he will likely have to go back to the shelter. We really don’t want that to happen.

🐾 Meet Tubbs!
• Around 7 months old
• Approximately 50 lbs and still growing
• Neutered & heartworm negative
• Crate trained
• Hasn’t had a single potty accident since going into foster over a week ago! 🎉
• Good on leash and working on not pulling
• Loves other dogs! He’s a boisterous player but settles nicely afterward
• Likes kids, but because he’s a big, enthusiastic youngster, we’d recommend kids 6+… unless your little ones bounce. 😅
• 🚫 No cats, please
• Certified BIG-TIME SNUGGLER & LAP DOG ❤️

Tubbs may be a big boy, but apparently nobody has informed him that 50-pound dogs don’t technically fit in laps. He strongly disagrees. 😂

His time outside the shelter has shown just how much potential this boy has. He’s young, affectionate, playful, and already learning how to be a wonderful house dog. What he needs now is someone willing to keep that momentum going.

💔 We need commitment before the end of the month. His arrival date is TBD, but the sooner we find a foster or adopter, the sooner we can work on getting Tubbs out of Texas and into our rescue.

💰 Adoption fee: $250
His adoption fee includes neuter, microchip, UTD vaccines, and current vet check.

🏡 Can you foster Tubbs? Ready to make him yours?
If you’re already preapproved, message us! Otherwise, apply at newleashdogrescue.com.

Even if you can’t take him, please SHARE. Tubbs finally knows what it’s like to live in a home. Let’s make sure he doesn’t have to go back. 🐾💙

Really hard to believe this girl is still available. She received so much attention right away and then nothing worked out.

✨ Meet Sparkle! ✨

At just 1 year old and 9 pounds, Sparkle is a tiny bundle of love with a heart that’s much bigger than she is! We think she may be a small terrier mix, but your guess is as good as ours.

What Sparkle lacks in size, she makes up for in affection. This little sweetheart absolutely adores her people and will happily shower you with kisses every chance she gets. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be your shadow and soak up all the love you can give, Sparkle is your girl.

Her playful personality is blossoming every day! She enjoys playing with other dogs who are interested in having fun and would likely benefit from a confident canine friend to help show her the ropes.

Sparkle is still working on potty training. She does well keeping her crate clean as long as she isn’t left for more than about 4 to 5 hours, and with consistency, routine, and supervision, she’s making great progress. Like many young dogs, she just needs someone willing to help her continue learning.

Sparkle is ready to trade her past for a lifetime of belly rubs, kisses, and cozy couch cuddles. Could she be the missing sparkle in your family?

🐾 1 year old
🐾 9 lbs
🐾 Possible small terrier mix
🐾 Loves people and endless kisses
🐾 Playful with other dogs
🐾 Crate trained with appropriate potty breaks
🐾 Potty training is a work in progress
🐾 $200 adoption fee

Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip, UTD vaccines, heartworm test, and a current vet check.
