Hi Scouts. This is a significant chance to the requirements to earn Eagle Palms. There is now much more of an incentive to earn extra merit badges while you are working toward Eagle. Those "pre-Eagle" extras can automatically be converted too Eagle Palms.

The BSA has announced significant changes to the way Scouts earn Eagle Palms — those awards presented to young men who earn more merit badges than required.

On April 15th, two scouts from Troop 319 worked on their final project for the Keep America Beautiful Hometown USA Award.

Zachary and Kevin performed a community service project with Glendale Clean & Beautiful (GCB), the local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. The project they chose to give back to the community was a cleanup near the Verdugo Hills Council Service Center.

"Scouting has given me a lot of great opportunities, so I felt it was good to give back to our Scout council," said Zachary.

"I thought it would be cool to earn this Keep America Beautiful Hometown USA award after doing the Foothill Cleanup with GCB last fall," said Kevin.
