On Purpose, For A Purpose, Inc. was created with a vision to take stock in local youth in our area. As a 22 year law enforcement veteran and current school resource officer, I understand the importance of youth mentorship. On Purpose, For A Purpose, Inc. provides youth mentorship by identifying youth in need and providing a positive influence in their lives. On Purpose, For A Purpose will be doing an annual Adopt-A-Student Program in which the organization will locate students in need and provide them with financial assistance for school-based events, holidays and other special events. This will allow our volunteer mentors to stay up to date with the youth’s school activities. Our volunteers will also provide school tutoring when needed. Our youth are taught life skills such as money management, peer pressure refusal strategies, managing emotions, communication skills and forming positive relationships.
On Purpose, For A Purpose, Inc. volunteers meet regularly with the youth and stay engaged in their lives and family. On Purpose, For A Purpose, Inc. volunteers assist not only the youth but their families as well in various aspects of their lives. Volunteers monitor grades, attendance, discipline and overall success of the youth. On Purpose, For A Purpose, Inc. partners with local law enforcement agencies school resource officers to help identified youth in need of services as well as the criminal justice programs in the local high schools. Our volunteers’ experience in life and in the criminal justice systems make them very diverse in the needs of the youth in which we serve.
Our volunteers come from very diverse backgrounds and from various areas of professional success such as law enforcement officers, attorneys, teachers and business owners. By our activities and events at On Purpose, For A Purpose, Inc., we intend to help young men and woman to take on the challenges of life and provide additional resources for our less fortunate youth to become successful adults.
