Out of an abundance of caution with ice remaining in our area on some roadways and walkways, Hays CISD has cancelled school for Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Some student activities on Tuesday afternoon may still take place, students should check with their coaches or activity sponsors.

In preparation for the cold weather that’s coming. We do have a warming center in the City of Uhland. St Michael’s Catholic Church Hall will be open. The address and contact information is, 80 S. Old Spanish Trail, Uhland, Tx. 78640, 512-398-7475. The hall can accommodate up to 20 people.

¿Corte de energía? ¡Mantenga sus alimentos seguros siguiendo estas reglas!

Si se va la luz, los alimentos pueden echarse a perder rápidamente. Esto es lo que debe hacer:
✔ Mantenga las puertas del refrigerador y del congelador cerradas tanto como sea posible.
✔ El refrigerador se mantiene frío por aproximadamente 4 horas sin electricidad.
✔ El congelador se mantiene frío por 48 horas si está lleno, o 24 horas si está a la mitad.
✔ Use hielo, paquetes de gel o botellas de agua congeladas para mantener los alimentos fríos.
✔ Después de 4 horas, traslade los alimentos del refrigerador a una hielera con hielo.
✔ Nunca pruebe los alimentos para ver si son seguros. ¡Si tiene dudas, deséchelos!
✔ Deseche carnes, pescado, huevos, leche, sobras y frutas/verduras cortadas después de 4 horas sin electricidad o sin hielo.
