This past weekend the Kure Beach Bike/Pedestrian Committee and Friends of Kure Beach led a volunteer team of over 40 neighbors developing new planting beds consisting of a mix of 120 native and exotic plants. The beautification project was completed at the Spot Lane connector, the Island Greenway link between Spot Lane and Settlers Lane
We would like to thank the Cape Fear Garden Club for their gracious grant and all the volunteers who came out on a beautiful sunny weekend to help!

Please join the KB Bike Ped committee and Friends of Kure Beach as we gather to improve the Greenway Spot Lane Connector! Hosted by the Carolina Beach & Kure Beach Bike/Pedestrian Committees, the 2nd Annual Tour de Island is a 10 mile bike tour of Pleasure Island. This event is free, open to the public and all types of bikes are welcome. T-shirts can be purchased online before September 30.
