The fund raising event is produced as the Bill Williams Charity Fishing Tournament. Bill Williams, a noted local television personality, lends his name and his support to this event as a means to further his ongoing commitment to this community in conjunction with the philanthropic activities of The Greater Knoxville SERT

OMA Club. Contributable funds are generated by net proceeds from business and personal sponsors and participant entry fees after tournament expenses. Donations from the event sponsors are used in calculation of the tournament prize allocation to top fishermen and are therefore the most significant factor in the successful attraction of participants. Because of the volunteer efforts of the Club members, more than 90% of the event’s net profit is available for donation to the named non-profit organizations.
