That’s a big animal, and it takes an equally big commitment to care for. 🦎

Every single reptile that comes through our nationwide adoption program gets a full medical workup and pathogen screening. 👉 We partner directly with the University of Tennessee's exotic animal vets to make sure no animal is placed in a home while harboring hidden diseases.

We have the space and the system to take in more surrenders, but the medical exams and testing kits are our biggest ongoing expenses!

We're hosting a workshop at GARD and we'd love to see you there. 🦎🐍

Here's the thing: conversations about disease prevention, healthy trade practices, and what's actually happening in the h**p industry need to happen more often.

That's exactly what Dr. Danielle Galvin is facilitating at the Global Amphibian and Reptile Disease Conference on June 10.

You don't need to be a scientist or veterinarian to join (though we'll have plenty of both). 👉 Pet keepers, business owners, anyone interested in understanding the current landscape of h**p health and trade practices—this is for you.

This is what professional rescue looks like. 🐍

Pretzel the ball python getting handled by one of the amazing University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine team members who provide veterinary care for our adoption program.

Every animal gets board-certified vet assessments, diagnostic testing, and expert handling before they ever make it to their forever homes.

Our partnership with University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine is what separates HTI from typical rescues.

These animals get access to a full service veterinary teaching hospital with specialists in zoological medicine.

Two rescues, two totally different energy levels. 🦎🐍

Ozzy the Boa 👉 54 inches, born 2019, weighs 1889g. This guy has opinions and he's not afraid to share them. He's been doing great with us (handled regularly, loves watching us work, eats frozen/thawed medium rats), but he can get feisty when startled. Needs an experienced keeper who knows how to handle large snakes and won't take his attitude personally. $500 or make an offer.

Tangy the Leopard Gecko 👉 Born 2017, 71g, novice friendly. If you're looking for a low maintenance gecko to start your collection, Tangy is basically perfect. No drama. $150 or make an offer.

Both have clean bills of health from UTCVM. Both need homes!!
