We served 67 households that included 108 dogs, 3 puppies, 92 cats, 6 kittens and 1 guinea pig.

No future distribution dates are set at this time. Unfortunately, it has become very difficult to keep up with the needs of our community as we have run very low on food and finances to support H & L Rescue.
Hopefully within the next few months we will acquire more pet food and money in order to have future distributions.

WHERE HOPE & LOVE ARE FOUND

Who came first, the chicken or the egg?

This question peaks interest in most minds. How on earth could the egg come before the chicken, but how did the chicken come to be without an egg? What if we take a new approach and say they both existed at the same time in harmony? The chicken is there to nurture the egg and bring new life once the egg hatches. Now it seems a little more realistic. The H&L Rescue team decided to take a new approach to the way we view animal sheltering. If there is only a shelter without a community assistance program, you have an overcrowded shelter with depleted resources. If you have a resource program and no shelter, there is no where to take animals that need sheltering the most. We decided that it is time to have both options available to better nurture the community.

We live in a world where you are criticized for not being able to afford basic care needs for your pet and yet ridiculed for surrendering them to a local shelter due to your temporary hardship. “This doesn't seem right, does it? What if there were better options?

H&L Rescue has aimed high to pursue these options, opening a new doorway to reduce the need to surrender your pets to local shelters due to temporary hardship. This will allow for shelters to be able to better accommodate the animals that need them the most. We have created a community food bank catering to dogs, cats, and small animals. This achievement will allow for a decrease in shelter overpopulation and a lending hand when you need help the most.
