Thank you to the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department for supporting the Tennessee Fallen Firefighter Memorial!

On August 22, 2026, PVVFD Board of Directors, staff, family members, and Chief Duncan visited the memorial site to help with scheduled cleanup and maintenance. The department also brought two certified Master Gardeners whose knowledge and assistance was utilized in shaping the front entrance to the memorial.

Regular maintenance like this ensures that the memorial remains a beautiful and dignified place to honor Tennessee’s fallen firefighters and welcome their families and visitors.

The group found the names of two Cheatham County firefighters on the memorial. Remembering and discussing their memories makes the trip worthwhile. We promise to Never Forget!

We sincerely appreciate PVVFD’s time, service, and commitment to preserving this sacred place.

After finishing, the group toured the fire academy campus and then enjoyed lunch at the Bell Buckle Cafe before returning. This was a great opportunity for the PVVFD Board to network and learn, thanks to Chief Duncan.

To schedule a memorial visit or a cleanup day for your department, please contact the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association through its website.
