I hope that by now, you have seen a post about the closure of Listening Hearts on Facebook. After an analysis of donations, volunteers, and attendance (which have been declining post COVID), the officers and the Board of Directors voted that Listening Hearts as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization will close 9/30/2025. We will keep this site open until mid to late October and then they will also be closed.

The Oak Ridge (Carmen Van Horn) and Jefferson City (Vicki Carter) groups will continue to operate as separate entities of Listening Hearts. They have been communicating with their members directly. If you would like more information on their plans, please contact the leader of that group.

We are sorry there was ever a need for a group such as ours; however, the pain and grief of losing a child is unimaginable unless you have or are going through it. Thank you for your support of time, talent, and donations through the years. Thank you for trusting us with your grief and pain. Our children will not be forgotten.

By now many of you have seen a post about the closure of Listening Hearts on Facebook. I have some sad news to share with you. As you may know, Debra Reagan started Listening Hearts in 2008 after the loss of her son, Clint. The mission was “to provide a safe and sharing environment for grieving moms”. As a reminder, the officers and the Board of Directors concluded that Listening Hearts as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization will be closed on or about 9/30/2025. We are still in the process of completing and submitting the legally required documents to the state of Tennessee. As such the last general meeting for Listening Hearts is Saturday 9/6/2025. If you are a current participant or a prior participant, we invite you to attend the group most convenient to you and join us at this last meeting.

To Our Beautiful Moms,
This isn’t an easy post to write, but we want to share that Listening Hearts will have their last meeting Saturday, 9/6/25.

Over the years, this group has been a safe place for bereaved Moms to share our stories, speak our babies’ names, cry together, and lift each other up when the days felt too heavy. The love and understanding here has been incredible — you’ve been there for each other in ways that only another Mom who’s been through it can truly understand.

While the group is closing, the connections, friendships, and love we’ve built here don’t have to end. Please keep holding each other close, wherever life takes you next.

Thank you for trusting this group with your hearts. Our babies will always be remembered, and so will the beautiful support you’ve given one another.
