GoNorth Animal Transport Collaborative GoNorth transports healthy, adoptable dogs from overpopulated shelters to under-capacity northern shelters where they will find loving, permanent homes.

The GoNorth Animal Transport Collaborative is a project of Peaceful Kingdom, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to ending healthy animal euthanasia through aggressive spay/neuter campaigns, rescue/adoption, and animal transport.

Annette, the 10,000th shelter animal transported by GoNorth, has been adopted! Annette was sidelined by a bad strain of kennel cough for a few weeks, and spent a period of time convalescing in a foster home. Once she had recovered and went to the adoption floor, she was adopted quickly! Her new mom is a young woman who is ready for Annette's puppy energy! Here's to Happily Ever After!

Dogs that go north get a thorough veterinary examination at the destination shelters. Annette, Ms. 10,000, was found to have a crusty spot on her ear that the vet thought might be ringworm. But the test results were negative! She'll be available for adoption soon. Here she is departing the Humane Educational Society in Hamilton county last week. Annette (Ms.10,000th shelter animal transported by GoNorth) is getting some special TLC at Michigan Humane. In this picture she is in the lap of Marcelena Mace, shelter manager at the MHS Rochester Hills facility. Also showing Annette some love is MHS staffer Autumn Kendricks. Meet Annette, the 10,000th shelter animal transported by GoNorth! Annette is a sweet, friendly 9 month old girl that was found stray in Hamilton County. She was in the care of the Humane Educational Society (the county shelter), and went to Michigan Humane Society yesterday. Ms. 10,000 needs a tiara!

Honey Bear is the 9500th shelter animal to be transported to a northern shelter by GoNorth. Honey Bear is a Great Pyrenees who was surrendered to the Bradley County SPCA because she "barks too much." I wonder if her owners knew that Pyrs are livestock guardians, bred to ward off intruders with their deep bark? Honey Bear is going to love the Michigan winters!

Beautiful Lucy was surrendered to the Anderson County Holding Facility when her owners divorced. She and 17 other shelter animals went to Wisconsin Humane Society this week where loving homes await them!
