Coeur de Lion Commandery No. 9 A beacon of chivalric tradition since 1959 Standing tall since 1859, Coeur de Lion Commandery No. 9 is a beacon of chivalric tradition in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Chartered as part of the Knights Templar, a fraternal order steeped in history and Christian ideals, the Commandery has woven itself into the fabric of the community for over a century and a half. Guided by the principles of faith, charity, and fraternal bond, Coeur de Lion has served as a pillar of strength and support for its members and the wider Knoxville community. Eminent Commander Jim Yoder and Senior Warden Jeff Noland participate in the laying of wreaths for Wreaths Across America for veterans at the Concord Masonic Cemetery at Chota Lodge. This is the grave of Rev. William Swan Smith. Union Veteran of the Civil War. Past Grand Master of Tennessee and Knights Templar. Huzaah!

"Greetings Sir Knights and Companions;

We have a couple of events that we would like to cordially invite everyone to attend. On Saturday, December 13th, at 8:30 AM Coeur De Lion Commandery #9 will meet at Chota lodge for a light breakfast. Then at 9AM we will place wreaths on all the veteran's graves in the Chota cemetery. This is in conjunction with wreaths across America. Sir Knights encouraged to wear uniforms, no swords, but everyone is welcome. This is our veterans day observance.

On Sunday, December 14th at 1PM at Powell Masters lodge on Fersner Road in Powell, #9 will have it's annual Christmas observance/toasts and installation of officers. Sir Knights encouraged to wear uniforms, no swords. Everyone is welcome.

Our next Paxton/Pearl 24 chapter meeting and Coeur De Lion Commandery 9 stated meeting will be at Powell Masters lodge on January 12, 2026. We will eat at 6PM and meeting to follow.

2026 dues now due for all bodies. Remit to each individual body, Paxton/Pearl 24, Knoxville Council 75, or Coeur De Lion #9 at the address below.

Sir Knights, following a successful inspection this past Saturday and all the meetings leading up to that, our Eminent Commander has cancelled tonight's stated meeting. Next meeting with be Monday, October 14, at 7pm at Shekinah Lodge, 4928 Strawberry Plains Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914
