Historic Sutherland Heights Neighborhood News and fun information about Historic Sutherland Heights neighborhood in Knoxville, Tennessee We are a small neighborhood of 139 homes.

These
houses were built all at once at the end of WWII and are some of the first pre-fab FHA houses
built in Knoxville. All of the original homes are all still here-- single family homes. This is a compact neighborhood : two sides border the Third Creek Greenway (with beautiful views) and one side borders West High School. One side borders Sutherland Ave.

A solid white dog (looks like a husky in build) wearing a harness has been spotted wandering on Greenleaf Ave. Paws appear very muddy like it potentially dug out of a fence or has been in water.

Message from Owner: My Rosie went missing yesterday and her little family is missing her.

If you've seen her in the West High - ish area, please let me know! She's very skittish and usually doesn't like unknown people. Thank you for keeping an eye out - hopefully we can find her soon.

The second work weekend for the future HSH pocket park was a resounding success! Today we had 10 neighbors in attendance...

The second work weekend for the future HSH pocket park was a resounding success! Today we had 10 neighbors in attendance. 6 removing invasive plant growth (including an expectant couple eager to see a safe place for their little boys to play), 2 UTK students coordinating a future partnership to bring in top soil for wildflower beds, 1 sharing his knowledge of native plants for future planting and 1 Sutherland Avenue neighbor offering a helping hand to haul brush. It’s with great hope that this project builds a stronger sense of community in our own little personal slice of paradise!

It’s with a heavy heart we report that a neighbor on Greenleaf lost their beloved cat today due to an encounter with a car. Just a gentle reminder to all that the posted speed limited in HSH is 25 MPH, and despite traffic calming efforts, this is often exceeded. Please show kindness for your neighbors by practicing safe driving habits.
