Our high school group has been learning about emotional intelligence for the past few weeks. We’ve had conversations on understanding the variety of emotions and feelings that exist, and how important self awareness is! We were thankful to have Ranae from the Marion County HR department come and share with us about how emotional intelligence is important and useful in all kinds of situations.

Thank you so much to Spire Drink Co for being this month's giving tree location host! Check out their relaxing and beautiful space and try a new drink while you’re at it! They have an amazing selection to choose from. We recommend the Thai Tea 😍.

The current needs for our organization this month include paper plates, printer paper, small prizes, washable markers, paper bowls, dry erase markers, and different cash or gift card amounts.

What a beautiful night we had on Friday to host a bonfire for our middle and high school girls!!!! Thank you so much to our volunteer, Crystal, for partnering to host us and sharing a devotion with us about being made new! It was such a special night of connecting together and encouraging each other ❤️

Freedom for Youth – Knoxville is officially First Place Ministries, a locally governed non-profit.

Our official 501(c)(3) status has been approved, so all donations made directly to First Place Ministries are fully tax-deductible. Contact Angie Gentry at 515-238-5844 or [email protected] about how to donate!

There will be changes coming, but our programs and our heart for students will continue as they currently are.

As of TODAY First Place Ministries is completely independent!!!
It has been a long journey to bring this ministry to fruition, and we are thankful to all those who have played a part, and we praise God for His faithfulness.

Join us tomorrow morning as we pray!

Tomorrow morning students all around the country will gather around flagpoles in front of their schools or city halls to seek the lord for their schools and communities.

Students today face challenges that were unheard of in public schools 20 years ago. Please set aside some time tomorrow to pray for our students, teachers, staff, faculty and administration. There is hope found in Jesus, He is the light of the world.

Encourage your student to join others as they boldly lay their schools at the feet of Jesus.
