DRO was founded over 25 years by Bill and Debbie Reed of Tennessee. Their love for God, people and dirt racing are the drive behind this ministry. Our mission is to help chaplains minister to teams, drivers and fan's through prayer, visitation, fellowship and church services. Our heart is for God and for all people. We want to encourage our race family as they are traveling and have no regular pla

ce of worship. We also printed and distribute DRO New Testaments as chaplains travel to races. We provide them for other ministries as well like Racing for Jesus and Racers for Christ. Everyone needs support sometime and we want to be there to help bear one another's burdens. We also manage the Chris Francis Dirt Racers Memorial Fund which helps with monetary expenses when a racer is injured.

God Doesn't Change Friday, June 5, 2026

Malachi 3:4-6
Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in the days of old, and as in former years. “Then I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, those who oppress the wage earner in his wages or the widow or the orphan, and those who turn away the stranger from justice and do not fear Me,” says the Lord of armies. “For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, the sons of Jacob, have not come to an end.

One of the most famous geographical features in New England was the “Old Man of the Mountain” or “Great Stone Face” in New Hampshire. This series of rock ledges in the White Mountains greatly resembled a man’s face. It was first described in writing by surveyors in 1805, and its fame spread when Nathaniel Hawthorne published a story about it in 1850. The rock formation became a special emblem for the Granite State, even appearing on the state quarter. Over the centuries, however, storms, freezing and thawing water, and erosion gradually weakened the formation. In May 2003, most of the edifice finally collapsed. There are now tributes in place that attempt to recreate the appearance of the famed rock formation, but the real thing is gone forever.

Everything in this world is changing from day to day. We are all getting older. Some of us have made many trips to the cemetery to bury family and friends. Some institutions and churches that once stood for what is right have changed their doctrine or even disappeared completely. There are a significant number of “facts” that were once taught with confidence and assurance in school which have proven to be false. Updates and revisions are required to keep textbooks up to date. Yet with all of the changes of the world there is one thing that is sure and trustworthy. God never changes. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17).

Today's Growth Principle
No matter how much change is in the world around us, God will always be exactly the same.

Real Value Thursday, June 4, 2026 Hebrews 11:24-26
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the temporary pleasures of sin, considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward.

Like many people, Rob Cutshaw is a rock hound. He spent countless hours on digs and hikes through the mountains looking for special stones. At one point he even operated a roadside stand near his home in North Carolina. In the 1960s Cutshaw found a large blue rock he called “purdy and big.” At one point he tried to sell it for $500 but found no takers. The rock spent the next two decades either under his bed or tucked away in a closet. When Cutshaw finally had the stone professionally appraised, it proved to be one of the largest sapphires ever found. The “Star of David” sapphire had a cut weight of more than 2,100 carats and was estimated to be worth nearly $3 million when it was put on display in 1987.

There are a lot of things in this world that people value very highly. But it is often the case that things which are truly valuable are seen as less interesting and appealing than things that are flashy but not really worth very much. None of the things of this world even begin to compare in value to the things of God. As Christians we have something far more important and valuable in our future. “ For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the violations that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:15). Trends and fads in this world come and go. Things that were once highly sought after become afterthoughts and their value vanishes. But the things of God always hold their worth because they are based on His character.

Today's Growth Principle
We must devote our lives and efforts to things of real value, not the empty things of this world.

Unmoved and Undeterred Wed, June 3, 2026 Acts 20:22-24
And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me. But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of God’s grace.

Walter Davis contracted polio when he was nine, and for the next three years he was unable to walk. But Davis refused to give up and eventually became an active young man and even a star college athlete. He made the US Olympic team for the 1952 Helsinki Games and won the gold medal. Then Davis was drafted into the NBA and won two league titles during his time with what was then the Philadelphia Warriors and the St. Louis Hawks. He could have stayed in bed and never tried, using polio to explain his inability. Instead, he made the choice to strive to recover and then move forward.

All of us have things that go wrong. We get sick, lose jobs, have financial reversals, or see relationships fracture. We look to the future and find that things are uncertain. Yet we do not have to allow that to dictate our behavior. We are not limited to what we can accomplish on our own. As Christians, we have a source of strength that is greater than anything the world can imagine. Paul wrote, “ Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16).

As long as we live in this world there will be things that go wrong. There will be times when we do not understand the purposes of God in the events of our lives. There will be times when it seems like there is little hope. But if we remain faithful to God and what He has given us to do, there will be a day when we reap the harvest He has promised.

Today's Growth Principle
To reach the goal God has set before us, we must be undeterred when there are problems or obstacles.

Earnest Prayers Tuesday, June 2, 2026 James 5:16-18
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.

Though Elijah was a powerful and greatly used prophet of God, James reminds us that he was also human, facing the same pressures, temptations, and struggles that we face. The thing that set Elijah apart was a commitment to earnest, passionate, faithful, and repeated prayer. He was not attempting to do his work for God in his own strength, because he recognized that would not suffice. Instead he depended on the faithfulness of God to work in response to his fervent prayers.

R. A. Torrey wrote, “Those who would have us think that they have attained to some sublime height of faith and trust because they never know any agony of conflict or of prayer, have surely gotten beyond their Lord, and beyond the mightiest victors for God, both in effort and prayer, that the ages of Christian history have known. When we learn to come to God with an intensity of desire that wrings the soul, then shall we know a power in prayer that most of us do not know now.”

There are too many Christians today who do not take prayer as seriously as they should. Prayer is the tool that God has given us to tap into His unlimited resources, to see Him work, and to have our daily needs met. Those promises only work to the extent that we claim them in our prayers. Prayer is not a last resort but a first step. “You lust, and have not: you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: you fight and war, yet you have not, because you ask not” (James 4:2).

Today's Growth Principle
A Christian who does not pray will be a Christian who misses out on what God can and would do.

Truth in Labeling Saturday, May 30, 2026 Romans 12:14-17
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never repay evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all people.

In response to the start of the Great Depression, Congress passed the Tariff Act of 1930. Much of the law was designed to reduce foreign imports in an effort to protect the struggling American economy. One provision required products to carry a label identifying their country of origin, allowing customers to see where the items they purchased were made. That requirement continues today for most retail items.

In recent years, however, South Korean officials have warned of a growing problem with products falsely labeled “Made in Korea.” Some foreign-made goods, including products from China, have reportedly been relabeled as Korean-made in an effort to gain the advantages associated with that label. But when the product bearing the label is not what it claims to be, the reputation of the name on the label is damaged.

The “label” that we wear as children of God is not an empty or meaningless statement. The truth is that people largely form their opinion of God by their experiences with those who bear His name. Everything that we do reflects on God because He is our Father. It is critical for us to be honest and fair and above reproach so that we do not cause others to have an excuse to slander the Lord. When Nathan confronted David over his sin, he pointed out to the guilty king that it was not just his name he had shamed, but the name of God as well: “by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme” (2 Samuel 12:14). We should live so as never to dishonor the name of the Lord.

Today's Growth Principle
Every day we are giving people an impression of God by the way we live, and we must be careful that it is a good one.

"Expensive Loyalty" Friday, May 29, 2026 Mark 8:34-37
And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what could a person give in exchange for his soul?

King Charles I took the throne of England in 1625 following the death of his father, King James. It was a turbulent time in English history, and Charles was not a popular king. His insistence on setting policy without consulting Parliament eventually led to the English Civil War in 1645. With the nation divided, each person had to make a choice of where to stand. Those who supported Charles became known as “cavaliers.” After losing several major battles, Charles was captured and later executed. Many of his supporters lost everything they owned, even their lives. On the tombstone of one of Charles’ cavaliers is this inscription: “He served King Charles with a constant, dangerous and expensive loyalty.”

Serving Jesus is always right, but we have no reason to expect that it will be easy or painless. In fact the more committed we are to following Him and the more like Him we become, the more opposition we can expect to receive. Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. (John 15:18-19). Rather than feeling badly treated when there are problems, we should be ready and willing to pay the price of following Jesus, no matter how costly that price may be. Considering all the Lord has given to and for us we have no excuse not to remain faithful.

Today's Growth Principle
Taking up the cross to follow Jesus is not easy, but it is worth every sacrifice it requires.

Sleeping With the Lights On Thurs, May 28, 2026 Deuteronomy 31:7-8 Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you will go with this people into the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you will give it to them as an inheritance. And the Lord is the one who is going ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not desert you or abandon you. Do not fear and do not be dismayed.”

After Thomas Edison unveiled the electric lightbulb in 1879, homes across America began switching over to the system. In 1891, President Benjamin Harrison was about halfway through his term in office when the proposal was made to bring electricity to the White House. A massive generator was installed in a nearby building to provide power. When the project was finished, the President and his wife were so afraid of the new system that they refused to touch the light switches. They depended completely on staff members to turn the lights on and off. According to one report, they would even sleep with the lights on rather than touch the switch themselves.

Fear often grows when we face something unfamiliar. In some instances, that uncertainty can keep us from enjoying what is available. Worse, it can keep us from obeying the instructions of God. When God has made His will clear, an unwillingness to move forward because we are afraid is always wrong. No enemy or opponent can stand against Him. We have His faithful promise to always be with us, and that should give us confidence to overcome every fear except the fear of the Lord. “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

There will always be threats and dangers for us to face. Refusing to give in to fear does not mean we are ignoring reality, but instead that we are trusting in One who is greater than every adversary. The bo***ge of fear is replaced by the freedom of God’s promises and our confidence in His love for us.

Today's Growth Principle
We must not allow fear to restrict our obedience to the work God has placed before us.

The Truth about Lying Wednesday, May 27, 2026

Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things that the Lord hates, Seven that are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, A false witness who declares lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

On the list of seven sins that are especially despicable in the eyes of God one sin appears twice—lying. In a world that increasingly doesn’t believe there is such a thing as truth, lying is not usually seen as a major problem. But God views things differently. The holy God of truth abhors lies because they are an assault on His very nature. Hebrews 6:18 says that it is “impossible for God to lie," and Titus 1:2 describes Him as a God "that cannot lie."

The French Enlightenment essayist, Michel de Montaigne wrote, “Lying is indeed an accursed vice. We are men, and we have relations with one another only by speech. If we recognized the horror and gravity of an untruth, we should more justifiably punish it with fire than any other crime. I commonly find people taking the most ill-advised pains to correct their children for their harmless faults, and worrying them about heedless acts which leave no trace and have no consequences. Once the tongue has got the knack of lying, it is difficult to imagine how impossible it is to correct it.”

There are times when it may seem like truth will lead to trouble while a lie will allow us to escape it, but that is always a false promise. Lies tend to grow larger and larger because we have to keep adding falsehoods to prevent disclosure. It is far better to face reality by speaking the truth, even if the immediate consequences will be unpleasant, than it is to begin a lie. Others usually see through lies eventually, but God sees and hates them immediately.

Today's Growth Principle
God is complete truth and He expects total honesty from His children.
