The Knox EMS Association (KEMSA) is dedicated to supporting and advocating for EMS professionals throughout Knox County. Through member engagement, professional development, education, and workplace advocacy, we work to strengthen the profession of emergency medical services and promote high-quality patient care for the communities we serve.

KEMSA represents a renewed local identity for EMS professionals in Knox County, reflecting the unique needs, challenges, and strengths of the providers who serve our community every day. While proudly affiliated with the International Association of EMTs and Paramedics (IAEP) Local R5-421 and the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE-SEIU), KEMSA emphasizes local engagement, local leadership, and local solutions for the issues facing Knox County EMS professionals.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of KEMSA is to advocate for EMS professionals, foster professional growth, promote safe and effective working conditions, and strengthen emergency medical services through leadership, education, and community engagement. As IAEP Local R5-421, KEMSA is committed to protecting our members, advancing the EMS profession, and ensuring the highest standard of care for the citizens of Knox County.
