Maraschino Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are a delightful combo of sweet cherries and rich chocolate—an irresistible treat for all ages!

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 jar (10 oz) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Pink or red food coloring (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract, and mix until well combined.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
Stir in the chopped maraschino cherries, chocolate chips, and food coloring (if using).
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on a wire rack.

As most of you know by now my youngest son was found dead on June 19th in his apartment. This has been a very hard thing for me to deal with so The clothes closet will not be open today Thursday and we will reopen on Saturday 10-4. I do appreciate all the prayers and thoughts that you have given me. Thank you for your concern in this matter and please understand that I am having a hard time right now and need your continued prayers. Thank you and God Bless

Due to the cold temperatures and the parking lot being froze over the church Hill Church of God free clothes closet in the service heart thrift store will be closed tomorrow we will reopen next Thursday at 10:00 a.m. until then stay warm and stay safe.
