The Link Between Mental Health and Homelessness 🧠🏠
Mental health and homelessness are deeply connected — and it’s rarely as simple as cause and effect. Here’s what we know:
• Untreated mental illness can make it harder to maintain housing, employment, or relationships
• Homelessness itself is traumatic, often worsening anxiety, depression, and PTSD
• Barriers like lack of insurance, transportation, or stable ID make accessing care even harder
• Stigma keeps many people from seeking help in the first place
This isn’t about blame. It’s about recognizing that housing instability and mental health struggles fuel each other — and breaking that cycle requires support, not judgment.

Thanks to this community’s incredible generosity, we are currently FULL on supplies! 🙏 We’re so grateful for every donation that’s helped us reach this point.
For right now, we’re pausing supply donations so we can focus on getting these resources into the hands of our neighbors who need them most. We’ll post again as soon as we’re running low!

For someone experiencing homelessness, being seen as a person—not a problem—can restore dignity and hope. A smile, learning someone’s name, or taking a few minutes to listen can remind our neighbors that they matter.

Today, Knox Rise had the opportunity to meet a woman in need and provide her with something many of us take for granted: a bra, clean socks, and sanitary wipes. These small essentials brought her comfort, dignity, and a reminder that she is seen and cared for.
Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do—and they’re also a reminder that there are so many others still in need. With your help, we can continue to provide these basic but life-changing items to more people in our community. Whether it’s donating supplies, giving financially, or simply sharing our mission, every action helps us reach one more person who needs support.
