Over several years the has been impacting and empowering the lives of Veterans.

“We believe Veterans aren’t problems to be fixed but are valuable assets and leaders to our communities. We want them well and out in the world, making a difference…..We want Veterans to put their gloves on, not hands out...and leave their corners of the world better than they found it.

But first, we need to fill the cups of Veterans so that they have greater capacity to continue to give. BFF events give individuals the tools, awareness, and community to be able to take the power back that they need to transform their lives and be of continued service….events and resources serve as the catalyst that cause Veterans to course-correct and do the work toward a different perspective and path in life.
The ripple effect of that effort is immeasurable.”

We have found no methodology more optimal or effective in changing lives than that of CrossFit.

We live within broken systems that keep sick people sick.

Whether that sickness be mental, emotional, or physical we believe that the true way forward is to empower individuals with both vision and agency to change their situation. Rather than reacting to their illness we want to be proactive in their wellness.

My life had turned into one jail visit after another, court date after court date, scheduled visits with my son, and even a few near death experiences. on December 8, 2020 I put down my last drink and my last drug and turned myself into jail where I was to serve the next two years. I ended up being accepted into a rehab program where I spent the next seven months. I had tried multiple times to get sober, but kept falling back into the same old habits so how was I going to make this time different? Once I was released from rehab, I had no idea what my next step was, all I knew was that I needed to surround myself with new people and focus on my health. that is when I heard about the Always Forward scholarship at CrossFit Elysium. without this scholarship I honestly do not know where I would be. It has been such a blessing to me and my son. I had no idea that I would gain this amazing supportive community that feels like family. people that believe in me and cheer me on not just during the workouts, but in life. whether it’s getting a high five after I workout or just a warm welcome as you come through the door, this place has never showed judgment towards me, or my past they have welcomed me with open arms. the mentorships I have got from my coaches and friendships I have made absolutely transformed my life. CrossFit has helped build my confidence and completely changed how I see myself and what I’m capable of. I have faced fears and triggers in this building. Yes I have cried! I could never put into words how grateful I am for those that are a part of the Always Forward initiative. It has saved my life! I am now the mother I have always wanted to be, and I will continue to strive to be the best version of myself and not settle for what’s comfortable but face the hard things as an opportunity to grow and become stronger. And try to help others do the same.

“Humility acts as the cornerstone of all virtues. Any virtue developed without it will quickly become polluted with the intent of serving the self. Even love, if not compelled by humility will become manipulation.

The life of both peace and power is on the other side of experiencing transformational humility.”

The 24|24 Challenge. Doing something difficult to honor those who have lived to such a degree of humility, they paid the ultimate sacrifice. Doing something difficult to create more meaningful lives for those in need.

We are honored to have Expanding Horizons, in partnership with , as our partner supporting at-risk teens.

The program partners with CrossFit Affiliates, and their local judicial systems to bring CrossFit to individuals who may not understand, or be equipped to “Chase the Lion” on their own.
