Certain places are riskier than others in the digital age! We often point toward 6:

✅ Bedrooms
✅ Bathrooms
✅ Buses
✅ Basements
✅ Sleepovers
✅ Grandma and Grandpa’s house

Nothing against Grandparents, but their homes are often digital safety soft spots!

And basements are just “different” in the digital age. Especially when there’s privacy, a SmartTV, and WiFi. We have a router with filters, but we’re also trying this sign on the basement door with reminders. The words were chosen carefully. I’m trying to invite my sons into these items, and not “demand” them.

In that list of 6 risky locations above, I really wish we could do something about school buses 🚌. Too many young people see their first p**n or shocking content on the bus.

To me, when this happens, it's abuse. And the parents of the children who abuse another child with that content on their smartphone should have consequences.

Parenting with you!
Chris
