It's official: the new law, "Supporting the Human-Animal Bond," went into effect this week in Colorado! 🎉 This legislation was initiated and led by AlignCare Health.

HB26-1229 formally recognizes the Human-Animal Bond as a Social Determinant of Health, creating a foundation rooted in policy for public health agencies, healthcare providers, and community partners to build pet-inclusive policy and programs.

Exciting news out of Colorado! 🏛️ AlignCare Health has been working with Colorado state legislators Reps. Rick Taggart and Lisa Feret and Sen. Judy Amabile to introduce HB26-1229, a bill that would recognize the human-animal bond within Colorado’s definition of social determinants of health as a life-enhancing resource that impacts the length and quality of human life.

The bill will be heard in committee on March 10 upon adjournment.
