Exciting news out of Colorado! 🏛️ AlignCare Health has been working with Colorado state legislators Reps. Rick Taggart and Lisa Feret and Sen. Judy Amabile to introduce HB26-1229, a bill that would recognize the human-animal bond within Colorado’s definition of social determinants of health as a life-enhancing resource that impacts the length and quality of human life.

The bill will be heard in committee on March 10 upon adjournment.

Anna brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, public service, and systems change—including nearly a decade as CEO of Roice-Hurst Humane Society and serving as mayor and councilmember in Grand Junction, Colorado.

At Roice-Hurst, Anna pioneered One Health programs that recognized the inextricable connection between people and their pets—like pet-friendly sheltering for unhoused families, co-deployed human and pet health services, and “pet prescriptions” through human health providers. Anna has been dedicated to keeping families whole and improving community health through pet and family wellness.
