August is Black Business Month! 🖤

This month, we are celebrating the Black business owners who are creating, serving, building, and investing in our community every day.

When you support a local Black-owned business, you are doing more than making a purchase. You are helping an entrepreneur pay an employee, support a family, grow a dream, create opportunities, and keep dollars circulating in our community.

And support does not always require spending money. You can also:

• Share a business’s social media post.
• Leave a positive review.
• Recommend the business to a friend.
• Refer the owner for a contract or opportunity.
• Invite the business to become a vendor.
• Connect the owner with resources and potential partners.
• Choose a Black-owned business for your next meal, event, gift, or professional service.

Black-owned businesses deserve more than a celebratory post during August. They deserve consistent customers, access to opportunity, meaningful partnerships, and long-term investment throughout the year.

This month, we challenge you to find at least one local Black-owned business you have never supported before, and become a customer.
