Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Warren Buffet. There is a magnifying glass on the ultra-wealthy and their giving habits. My opinion: good people give back whether they have millions or not. This includes me and you.

A pr***en is misbehaving in public. Maybe they're offensive and have no respect for adults around them. What's the first thought that goes through your mind? If you're like us, you're likely thinking about how they were raised. Where are their parents anyway?

This month, our family thought through what it takes to break a generational cycle of neglect, weak parenting skills, or consistent trauma. How much help does a family need if they never had good parental examples? If they are struggling with making ends meet too? If they've never learned skills to cope with stress?

The only answer we could come up with is: a lot. It takes a lot of compassion, time, and work to break a cycle like that. We also learned about relief nurseries and A Family Gathering Place: Relief Nursery of Klamath County.

We are so thankful for the services they provide to families in our community. We're donating to them this month, and encourage you to check out what they do. They are always collecting diapers and wipes, and have openings for volunteer positions in their nursery.

Every local problem has a local solution. The Klamath Family Warming Center is an excellent example of a partnership between non-profits, the faith community, and good people coming together to solve a problem. Winters are cold in Klamath, and there is no doubt this center saves lives every year.
