Maryland deer hunters conclude a successful fall firearm season. Hunters harvested 28,236 deer during the two-week firearm season from Nov. 25th through Dec. 9th. “Firearm hunting for deer continues to be our most popular season,” Wildlife and Heritage Service Director Karina Stonesifer said. “The season enables many hunters to put much needed venison in the freezer and it helps significantly with managing the state’s deer population.” Read more at https://mddnr.info/48pynqE

Hunters harvested 16,607 deer during the early portion of the 2023 archery and muzzleloader seasons. In two months, 10,140 deer were taken during the archery season and 6,299 harvested during the October muzzleloader season.
