People tell us all the time they’d love to foster, but they don’t have enough experience, a huge house, a fenced yard, or some magical dog-whisperer ability.

Good news.

Dogs do not care about your resume.

They need a safe place to sleep.

Someone to feed them breakfast.

A person who will laugh when they steal the good spot on the couch.

And a home to call theirs while we find the family who will call them theirs forever.
We provide the food, supplies, vet care and support.

You provide the temporary spot to crash.

No, he doesn't have a magic staff.
No, he can't defeat a Balrog.
And no, he probably doesn't know what Middle-earth is.

But he DOES have one very important quest ahead of him…

FINDING HIS FOREVER FAMILY! ❤️

At approximately 3 months old, 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐟 is just getting started on his greatest adventure yet.

He's got the adorable puppy face.
He's got the ridiculously cute name.
He's got his whole life ahead of him.

The only thing missing? YOU.

𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐟 isn't looking for a castle, a kingdom, or a fellowship of nine.

Just a family to call his own.

Whose ready for some fresh pumpkin treats this season 🎃? I know these three pups are definitely gearing up to have all the fall themed goodies in the world! Each of our grateful dog are unique, special, and absolutely perfect in every way, just like a pumpkin in a pumpkin patch or a leaf that just turned the perfect shade of red🍁. We are so excited to see what is in store for the adopted dogs this week as they continue to live their best life with their new best friends. Congratulations to Gizmo, Hutch, and Melanie, who were picked from the patch and will be loved and cherished by their new families. Stay tuned for the next update!🐾🐕

𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨 is house-trained, affectionate, easygoing and great with the small dogs in his foster home. He enjoys playing with other dogs but would also be perfectly happy as your one and only. He prefers respectful, easygoing canine friends, especially the ladies.

Dog parks? Not really his thing.

Couch. Squeaky toy. Pajamas. His person?

Absolutely.

It's $𝟓 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 and there is a dog somewhere right now who has absolutely no idea what five dollars is about to do for them.

They don’t know it’s Friday.

They don’t know where Maine is.

They definitely don’t know that a bunch of strangers on the internet are about to start throwing five-dollar bills at their future.

They just know today.

But rescue is already working on tomorrow.

Tomorrow looks like a ride out of the shelter.

A transport heading north.

A foster standing in a parking lot saying, “Which one is mine?”

A brand-new collar.

A full food bowl.

A suspicious inspection of the couch.

And eventually, inevitably, sleeping directly in the middle of someone’s bed like they personally signed the mortgage.

That whole journey is made up of hundreds of little things.

And little things cost money.

So today, we’re not asking one person to do something huge.

We’re asking a whole lot of people to do something small.

There’s a part of rescue you don’t always see.

It’s the in-between.

The space between a dog leaving the life they knew and finding the family they’ve been waiting for.

That space?

That’s a foster home.

It’s where they learn that the food bowl will be full tomorrow, too.

That the person who leaves for work actually comes back.

That a leash can mean a walk instead of uncertainty.

That the couch is comfortable.

That toys are meant to be destroyed immediately.

That they’re safe enough to finally sleep.

Fostering doesn’t require a perfect house, a huge yard, or years of experience.

It requires a little space in your home and a willingness to be someone’s in-between.

We provide the food, supplies, vet care, and support.

A home.

And when your foster leaves for their forever family, you get to know something pretty incredible.

HER ENTIRE LITTER HAS BEEN ADOPTED. SHE’S THE LAST ONE WAITING. 💔

Meet 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐢𝐦.

One by one, her siblings found their people.

Their couches.
Their families.
Their forever homes.

And somehow, 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐢𝐦 is still waiting for hers.

And guys… we genuinely don’t understand how.

🐾 And that FACE. Seriously.

Our volunteers recently spent the day with 𝐌𝐢𝐦, and she absolutely charmed everyone she met. She greeted strangers with a smile, soaked up the attention and looked at everyone with those giant dark eyes like she was interviewing candidates for the position of Best Friend.

Apparently, none of them had the correct paperwork. 😂

So the position remains open.

WANTED: 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐢𝐦’𝐬 Person

Qualifications:
Must appreciate an adorable face.
Must have room for one more on the couch.
Must be prepared to fall ridiculously in love.

Who doesn’t love a good carnival? 🎡 The delicious food, the fun little rides, the many game stall that have the cutest prizes. And who can ever forget about exciting circus shows. The many performers and entertainers that practically sparkle under the lids in the Big Top 🎪! They were the only ones sparkling, however, because two Grateful Dogs are shining in the limelight as officially adopted dogs! Kobe and Penny are the sweetest pups that only want to give their full love and attention to their new best friends. They are creatures of comfort who like their space but also want to are ready to join you whenever you need them 💞. They are calm, loyal and devoted and we are so happy these pups finally have a place to call home. Congratulations to Kobe and Penny and the families who opened their hearts and door to them. Stay tuned for the next update!🐕

HOUSE-TRAINED. DOG-FRIENDLY. KID-FRIENDLY. AND ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD. 👀

Okay… who is going to adopt 𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚?!

This gorgeous brindle girl is 5 months old and has been doing AMAZING in her foster home.

🐾 House-trained
🐾 Great with other dogs
🐾 Great with kids
🐾 Sleeps through the night in her crate
🐾 Doing great with leash walking and recall
🐾 Food motivated and eager to learn
🐾 Loves squeaky toys and her bones
🐾 Equal parts playful puppy and total sweetheart

𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 can be a little cautious when meeting someone new, but give her a little time (and maybe a snack 😏) and her sweet, playful personality starts shining through.

She has already learned so much in foster care.

Now she needs the one thing we can't teach her:

What it feels like to finally be HOME. ❤️

𝐇𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡 would like you to know that he is ready for his walk. 🐾

Like right now.

Orange harness. On. Leash. Clipped. Those warm amber eyes looking up at you like he has been waiting very patiently and would appreciate if you could wrap up whatever you are doing.

He is one year old, jet black, Lab mix with white tuxedo paws that he pairs with that orange harness like someone who thinks about these things.

And he does think about these things.

𝐇𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡 is the kind of dog who is equally happy on a three mile walk or curled up on the couch afterward like nothing happened.

He does both with his whole heart.

He is wonderful with kids, dogs and cats.
House trained. Neutered. Vaccinated.
Smart, sweet and genuinely one of the most good natured dogs we have ever had come through our doors.

He also has a sophisticated interest in classical music but that is a whole separate conversation.

The point is 𝐇𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡 is ready.

Ready for walks.
Ready for couch time.
Ready for the family who is going to clip that orange harness every morning and head out the door together.

That family is out there.

𝐇𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡 has been very patient about it.

But he would really like to get going.
