🚨 Preparing to answer the call!

As communities brace for the impacts of Hurricane Isaias, our Orlando Area Command team has spent the day preparing to deploy personnel and emergency response vehicles to support relief efforts.

Two staff members and one volunteer, including our Director of Volunteer Services, Nic Freeman, will be heading north with: 🍽️ A full-sized canteen capable of serving roughly 1,500 meals
🚐 A Rapid Response Unit capable of serving around 1,000 meals

A special thank you to Light Orlando for hosting your monthly Lunch & Learn at The Salvation Army Orlando Area Command! ❤️

We were grateful for the opportunity to welcome fellow nonprofit and community partners to our campus and share more about the work happening every day at The Salvation Army! ✨🤝

Guests joined us for a three-part tour of our Women’s and Children’s Shelter, the William & Catherine Booth Towers senior housing, and our Corps Building.

From learning more about our mission to seeing firsthand the spaces where we serve our neighbors, it was a wonderful afternoon of connection, collaboration and community. 🫂❤️

Thank you for spending time with us and learning more about our mission. Here’s to delivering hope together! 😊✨

📢 If you’re still looking for food pantry assistance, please stop by the Kissimee First Church of the Nazarene (1550 Mill Slough Rd) tomorrow between 9:00 AM- 2:00 PM.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Celebrating the people who make our mission possible every day! ❤️🫂

Last week, The Salvation Army Orlando Area Command gathered for a special employee breakfast to celebrate an incredible group of team members that have dedicated between 5 to 40 years of service to our mission! 🎖️

Between a delicious breakfast and some Salvation Army trivia, we had the opportunity to pause, celebrate one another, and recognize the dedication of the people who work hard every day to serve our community. ✨👏

We also gave special recognition to three employees who have each dedicated three decades or more to The Salvation Army:

👏 Janice Schnell – 40 years
👏 Denis O’Dillon – 35 years
👏 Gene Daniels – 30 years

Please join us in congratulating them and all of our employees celebrating milestone anniversaries! ❤️

The Salvation Army is bringing musicians together for a special band concert featuring the Orlando Citadel Band and a mass band made up of Salvation Army musicians from across the area!

We’re especially excited to welcome special guest Bandmaster William Himes, one of the most well-known composers in the brass band world, who will lead our musicians for this special performance.

Best of all, the concert is open to the public! Come experience an evening of incredible brass music, fellowship, and the joy of music bringing our community together. ❤️

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to do just that at our Lunch & Learn!

This event brought together community partners and prospective donors for an inside look at our mission, programs, and the many ways we serve our neighbors in need.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us yesterday for the Women’s Auxiliary Lunch & Learn!

We love it when our community shows up in numbers! 👟❤️

The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary held its first-ever Women Walking for Women Fundraiser Walk Saturday morning, and it was a HIT! 🎉

And apparently, walking for a good cause isn’t just for humans. We even had a furry friend join in on the fun! 🐾

Together, these incredible ladies raised over $800 to support the mission of The Salvation Army! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who chose to spend their Saturday morning walking for a cause and making a difference!
