The Osceola County unit of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service. We support events, disaster response, and emergency preparedness.

We are licensed volunteers providing emergency and auxiliary communications for the Osceola County when normal systems fail.

📡 Osceola County ARES Monthly Breakfast

Members of Osceola County ARES gathered for our monthly breakfast meetup at Village Inn.

These meetups are a great opportunity for members and local operators to connect, share experiences, discuss current activities, and continue building strong relationships within the amateur radio community.

📡 Osceola County ARES Meeting Recap April 27, 2026

Osceola County ARES held our monthly meeting on Monday, April 27. Members discussed ongoing activities, upcoming events, and continued efforts to strengthen our emergency communications capabilities.

Following the meeting, members gathered at the newly opened Texas Roadhouse for a meal and continued conversation. It was a great opportunity to connect, share experiences, and build camaraderie within the group.

Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to continued training, service, and growth in the months ahead.

📡 Member Highlight – WB4IKX

Today we want to recognize BJ (WB4IKX) for his incredible dedication to amateur radio and lifelong service to the community.

Shown here in a 1977 newspaper article from what was back then, the Kissimmee Gazette, BJ is pictured in the center of the photo, toward the back, during a demonstration at Osceola High School. The demo included 2 meters, HF, and even a remote tractor trailer on 6 meters, introducing students to the power of amateur radio nearly 50 years ago.

What makes this even more impressive is that BJ has continued that same commitment to service throughout his life. From serving as a firefighter to now actively supporting the community as a member of Amateur Radio Emergency Service in Osceola County.

Decades of service, knowledge, and dedication like this are what make amateur radio and ARES so strong. BJ’s impact spans generations, and we are proud to have him as part of our team.

Thank you, BJ, for everything you’ve done and continue to do! 📻👏
