Haven at Foxwood Farm A place where farm animals can feel the grass beneath their feet, the sun on their faces and a home to live out their days in happiness.

For as long as I can remember, I have felt the most comfortable in the company of animals. I decided at a very young age that I wanted to create a sanctuary where farm animals can live out their lives in safety knowing and feeling that no harm would ever come to them. After my children were old enough to not “hang” with their parents anymore we decided to take a leap of faith. Haven at Foxwood Farm was that leap. We are a place of peace and tranquility.

Time is flying by!!!

In just 2 weeks I'll be at this wonderful show with such amazing people. So relaxed, so beautiful.

Never a dull moment.

This snapping turtle made her/his way to the fence. I'm "assuming" female.

The problem is, the fence. The other problem, she is waaaay feister than any snapper I've dealt with in the past. So just picking her up from the lower half of her shell was out of the question.

I grabbed a box, wrapped her up and brought her to the other side of the far fence heading down the ravine which I'm pretty sure she was heading.

She was snapping at me the whole time I was walking which made me feel good. She's healthy.

Hopefully when she's finished nesting she will venture back to where she came from during the night. A dog/snapping turtle encounter is not something I want happening.

I'm shocked that I haven't seen her before. We've had several turtles make their way across the yard but not her. Our property is flanked by ravines. Both, containing water. A perfect spot to nest . I'm so relieved they cross our property and not the street to get to where they are going.

I hope she lives a long safe life here as well as her babies🙏♥️
