Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science 💜

Last Friday, Nuevo Foundation spent the day at Meany Middle School in Seattle with Ms. Prosser’s science students learning Python and creating original music beats through code.

Zoey shared how excited she was that Nuevo came to her school and how much she loved learning to code.

Lia proudly showed off the beat she built herself. Confidence. Creativity. Ownership.

And Sofiatold us in Spanish that it was her first time coding and that she truly enjoyed it.

This is what access looks like.

🎧 Demo time in Renton!

Students showcased the beats they coded in Python — and the creativity was off the charts!

🏆 6 winners took home colorful 3D-printed Nuvis, while every participant got a mini Nuvi and a cheat sheet to keep learning!

We partnered with to teach students (ages 14–24) how to make their own beats using Python! 💻🎧

From coding loops to dropping their final tracks — everyone built something amazing, including the adults who joined in!

🌎✨ Pura vida from PyCon Latam 2025!

We’re so happy to have joined the Python community once again, this time in beautiful Costa Rica 🇨🇷

From teaching two Python workshops to connecting with incredible attendees and learning from inspiring talks, PyLatam always feels like home.

We’ve been part of this journey since its very first edition in Puerto Vallarta, and it’s amazing to see how far the community has come. 💙

✨ Back in June, we had an unforgettable experience in Pennsylvania, thanks to our friend and IF/THEN Ambassador Dr. Lataisa Jones. She invited Nuevo Foundation to teach coding to an incredible group of students—refugee youth who had been in the U.S. for anywhere from 3 months to 2 years. 🤖

These students were part of a state program offering life-changing opportunities like a summer camp for migrant and refugee youth, and we were deeply honored to be part of their journey. 🤍

For many, it was their very first time coding, and we introduced them to Nuevo’s famous and Earsketch workshop, where they created their own unique beats! The excitement and curiosity in the room were contagious. 🎶 We also had the privilege of mentoring them during a roundtable session, answering heartfelt questions about life, opportunities, and the “American dream.” Their gratitude and hope for the future were truly moving. 🙌🏼

A highlight of the day? Giving away an Xbox One to a student, who had never owned a gaming console or won anything before, was brought to tears of joy. Moments like these remind us of the lasting impact we can make. 🎮

Hearing that many students left inspired to pursue or sound engineering was the ultimate reward. Seeing role models who look like them and experiencing the power of coding firsthand sparked new dreams. These students, from across South and Central America, Asia, and Africa, filled us with pride and hope for the future. 💻

Endless thanks to Ximena Cortez at for sharing her expertise with Digital Scholars! She introduced students to the skills and responsibilities of QA engineers and openly shared her inspiring STEM journey, including the challenges she has overcome. A true role model for these scholars, Ximena empowered 50 local students to believe that anyone can code. 👏🏼👏🏼

Tuve el placer de conversar con Alejandro Rodríguez en el podcast The Doer’s Formula sobre la relevancia de los latinos en el sector tecnológico 👩🏻‍💻👨🏽‍💻, mi experiencia en Microsoft y el proceso de creación de nuestro proyecto, Nuevo Foundation 🤖, a través del cual buscamos incluir a las minorías en la industria tecnológica, con un enfoque especial en la codificación.
