Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask for divine protection for all the brave men and women that are fighting overseas, wisdom and discernment for all those in positions of leadership and influence, and the peace that we know comes only from you! May you be with their families and give them gentle assurance that You are in control. Psalms 144:1-2 NLT
[1] Praise the Lord, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle. [2] He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my rescuer. He is my shield, and I take refuge in him. He makes the nations submit to me.

Amen!

🚲🎉 A Huge Blessing for Mr. Alvin! 🎉🚲
Today we are celebrating a BIG win at Rural Homeless Network!
Thanks to an incredibly generous donor, Mr. Alvin is now the proud owner of a brand-new three-wheel bicycle! 🙌
After receiving his prosthetic, one of Alvin’s biggest goals has been rebuilding strength in his legs and working toward as much normalcy and independence as possible. This bike isn’t just a bike — it’s therapy, it’s freedom, it’s confidence, and it’s another step forward in his journey.
Seeing his smile reminded us exactly why this mission matters.
To everyone who continues to support our veterans and residents — thank you. Your generosity changes lives in tangible, powerful ways. It means more than you know. ❤️
Together, we keep moving forward.

-Setting the Record Straight-

I want to personally address some confusion surrounding the recent news article about Rural Homeless Network / Veterans Village.

First and foremost — we have NOT run out of funding.

We currently have enough funds to maintain all operational expenses for approximately one year based on our current occupancy, along with a small emergency reserve for unexpected needs. We are stable. We are operating. We are not going under.

The purpose of the article was to expand awareness and invite new support so we can grow responsibly — not to suggest we’ve “hit a brick wall.”

What we do not have are the additional funds required to begin building the next phase of homes without pulling from operational reserves.

As Executive Director, I will not jeopardize the sustainability of this organization or the veterans we currently serve just to create the appearance of progress.
Growth must be sustainable.

Regarding comments about non-veteran residents — it is true we currently have three civilians placed through our limited Home Safe Program. Due to lower success rates and funding restrictions from veteran-related agencies, we have made the decision to phase that program out. Once those individuals transition, we will be 100% veteran-occupied moving forward.

Any behavioral concerns that have been mentioned are being addressed directly. Accountability is not optional here.

Transparency matters deeply to me. This organization is God-centered, mission-driven, and committed to serving veterans with integrity and responsibility.

Yes, this organization has gone through some transition in leadership/management, but I assure you everyone that was involved with this organization has a heart for this mission and heart for our veterans! As with any organization, there are learning curves and there will inevitably be differences in view and how things should be handled. We have made the hard decisions and adjusted where needed, to ensure the success of this mission and organization!

We remain standing.
We remain stable.
And we remain committed to those who sacrificed so much for this country.

If you have questions, I welcome respectful conversation.

💙 Community Help Needed for One of Our Veterans
I am reaching out today on behalf of Army Veteran Mr. Smith, who has been with us for the past year and has made remarkable progress. Despite being an amputee, Mr. Smith has shown incredible determination, resilience, and a never-quit attitude. Watching his growth this past year has truly been a blessing.
As he continues moving forward, there are a couple of resources that would make a huge difference in his daily life and independence:
🚲 A three-wheel bicycle (for safe mobility and exercise)
💻 A laptop (to help with communication, appointments, and continued personal growth)
If you have either of these items available to donate—or know someone who might—we would be so grateful for your help. This is a simple way to come alongside a veteran who has sacrificed so much and is doing everything he can to keep pushing forward.
Please comment below or message us directly if you’re able to help. As always, thank you for being a community that shows up, loves big, and supports those who served. 🇺🇸🙏

Thanks to Mr Marshall Bell we’ve officially completed the new plumbing infrastructure for our veterans village—an unglamorous but absolutely critical step that prepares the way for Phase Two: 10 additional homes for homeless veterans. This groundwork means we’re one step closer to turning dirt into doorways, and hope into housing.
And here’s the hard truth: the need has never been greater.
We receive multiple phone calls every single week asking if we have space for veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country. Brave men and women. Mothers and fathers. Heroes. Too often, our answer has to be “not yet.” That answer weighs heavy on our hearts.
These 10 homes would change that.
Each home represents a veteran sleeping safely at night.
Each home represents dignity, stability, and a chance to rebuild.
Each home represents a promise kept to those who served us.
But we can’t do this alone. We desperately need donations to move from infrastructure to construction and from plans to people moving in. If you’ve been looking for a place where your generosity has a real, tangible impact—this is it.
We truly believe God is making a way, just as He always has, and we’re trusting Him to provide the resources through people who care.
Please consider giving, sharing, and praying with us as we work to say “yes” to the next veteran who calls.
Together, we can build more than homes—we can restore hope.

As Executive Director of Rural Homeless Network, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to First Team Outreach of Kirbyville, Texas for coming out and blessing our residents with an incredible fish fry. The food was wonderful, but more importantly, the love, fellowship, and intentional ministry you brought with you truly meant the world to our little community.
We continue to see the impact of ministry, especially in this setting and it is clear that lives are being changed for the better... We had 2 men give their lives to the Lord Saturday!!
Our residents felt valued, encouraged, and reminded that they are not forgotten.
Most of all, we give all the glory to God. He continues to make a way where there seems to be no way, faithfully providing the resources, people, and partnerships needed to keep this mission moving forward. We are humbled and grateful to be part of what He is doing.
Thank you, First Team Outreach and all of the wonderful volunteers for walking alongside us in service and in faith. We are truly blessed. 🙏✨
