VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters is excited to share 2025-2026 National President Lois Callahan's special project: the VFW Auxiliary's Continuing Education Scholarship.

This scholarship‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ is available to Auxiliary members, their spouse, son or daughter who are 21 years of age or older and wish to further their education by pursuing a college degree or career direction at a vocational/technical school. While the deadline for entries has now passed, we are continuing to promote Callahan's special project with the hope of increasing future scholarship award amounts and keeping the scholarship going long into the future.

President Callahan knows firsthand how difficult it can be returning to school as a continuing education student. She benefitted from Pell Grants and the emotional support of her Auxiliary while studying to become a pediatric occupational therapist. That's why, throughout the year, members have been fundraising and raising awareness about this special scholarship. We re encouraged by the enthusiasm you have shown thus far - let's keep it going!

What is Auxiliary SWAP?
An initiative started in 2018 encouraging members to Share Wonderful Auxiliary Projects.

It works when an Auxiliary has had a great idea for a project, Program, event, parade float, membership recruitment or promotion and decides to document and share that idea with other Auxiliaries, which then take those ideas and run with them.

If you have a successful Auxiliary SWAP, email us at [email protected] with information and 1-3 photographs!

🇺🇸 Are you ready to continue your service in a powerful and meaningful way?

Joining your local honor guard is one of the most impactful ways a veteran can give back—ensuring fellow service members receive the military honors they have earned.

Many people don’t realize how simple it is to get started. In fact, it often begins with just one phone call.

If you’ve ever felt the calling to serve again, this is your opportunity.

Here’s how to take the first step:
• Contact your local funeral home and ask for your area’s honor guard commander
• Reach out and let them know you’re willing to serve
• Your local honor guard will guide you through the rest

You don’t have to figure it out alone—and your service still matters more than ever.

⚠️ Important Note: Operation Honor Guard does not operate any active honor guards. We exist to support and recruit for ALL honor guards across the country.
