Today our Kindergarten through 2nd grade Cub Scouts had a hands-on adventure into the past and present 🌎🦕

We explored the world of archaeology, talked about extinction, and learned the difference between animals that are still living today and those that are long gone. The scouts had a blast matching extinct and living animals, using their imaginations to draw what might be hidden inside their own “archaeological eggs,” and carefully breaking open rocks to excavate their very own dinosaurs!

So much curiosity, creativity, and excitement in one activity. These young explorers are already thinking like real scientists! 🦴✨

More Cub-o-ree fun

This past weekend a few scouts from Pack 612 at Northeast Elementary got to experience their first Cub-o-ree. This year's theme was Cub Smoke, The Search for the Lost Lantern. Scouts survived Friday night's rain storm, and much cooler temps on Saturday. Overall a great time was had. They played games, did crafts, shooting sports, and raced a Cub mobile. Went to Saturday night camp fire where we all found the Lost Lantern.

Today, Pack 612 learned an important lesson about giving back and doing for others 💙

Our Scouts put that lesson into action by creating their own artwork for the Lenoir County SPCA t-shirt contest! Each design was filled with creativity, kindness, and a love for helping animals in our community 🐾

We’re so proud of their hard work and the big hearts they showed today. Way to go, Pack 612!
