The rescheduled date for our 5K is only 3 weeks away and we wanted to take a moment to say thank you for participating and remind you why your support is so important.
Open Door Recovery House is a FREE sober-living house for women. We provide an encouraging Christian environment for women who seek recovery from alcohol and other drug abuse to grow as they learn to transition back into the community.
The women we serve stay from 3 months to 1 year - COMPLETELY FREE! While they are working their program and focusing on their recovery, we cover food, housing, transportation, medical, recovery books, and so much more, at no charge to them. We also do not take any government funding, meaning we are completely supported by individuals, churches, businesses and grants. That is why this 5K is so important. It is one of only 2 fundraisers that we currently hold every year to help support our mission. Our goal for the 5K is to raise at least $25,000 to cover the cost of food for the year...with up to 8 ladies staying in the house, food costs can be a lot!
