π Every Girl Deserves a Safe Place and a Brighter Futureπ
Today, Soroptimist International of Kingman welcomed Kelly Tanner, director of Youth Services with Arizona Youth Partnership, to learn about the life-changing work of Providence Place.
Located in Bullhead City, Providence Place provides emergency shelter and support for vulnerable girls throughout Mohave County, including girls from our own Kingman community.
Beyond providing a safe place to stay, the program offers counseling, life skills, transportation, and guidance to help these young women find stability and build brighter futures.
But this important program is facing a serious challenge.
After losing its federal grant funding on September 29, Providence Place is working to raise the funds needed to keep its doors open.
Arizona Youth Partnership has committed $68,000 to help sustain the shelter and is asking the community to help match that investment.
It costs approximately $685 each day to provide the shelter and services these girls depend on.
We are grateful to Kelly for sharing both the impact of this work and the challenges they are facing.
At Soroptimist, we believe every girl deserves safety, opportunity, encouragement, and the chance to reach her full potential.
