We wanted to share an update on Cassidy. After additional testing and a second opinion, what was initially thought to be a more general form of sarcoma has been further defined as osteosarcoma, a type of cancer that originates in the bone.

Because of this diagnosis, Cassidy’s treatment plan has changed. She will begin chemotherapy before any surgery takes place, and she will not be undergoing a leg amputation at this time.

Please continue to keep Cassidy and Kash in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the road ahead.

As a reminder, the Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction for the Lyons family is TONIGHT, June 6th at the Kingfisher Church of the Nazarene. Dinner begins at 5:00 PM, meals are by donation, and all proceeds will go directly to the Lyons family to help with expenses during treatment and recovery.

Thank you for your continued love, support, and prayers. 💜

Alexis Smith is facing the fight of her life.

Born and raised in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Alexis is a devoted mother to three wonderful children, Everly (8), Jagger (7), and Benton (3). She is also a nursing student at CTTC, working toward graduation this fall, and an Advanced Certified Medication Aide (ACMA) at the Center of Family Love in Okarche, where she dedicates her days to caring for others and helping with their daily needs.

Alexis is battling Stage IV Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, a form of breast cancer that has spread to her bones from her skull to her hips. Her diagnosis is triple positive breast cancer, meaning the cancer is fueled by estrogen and progesterone and is also HER2 positive, making it particularly aggressive.

She has begun an aggressive treatment plan and faces 18 weeks of intensive chemotherapy as doctors work to determine how her cancer and body respond. While her cancer is incurable, it is treatable, and the hope is that treatment will slow the progression of the disease and allow her more time with the people she loves most.

Throughout this journey, Alexis has been supported by her loving boyfriend, Joe Corkery, who has remained steadfastly by her side through every challenge.

Anyone who knows Alexis knows her heart for helping others. While pursuing her nursing degree, raising three children, and working in healthcare, she has always been someone people can count on. Now she is the one who needs the support of her family, friends, and community.

The road ahead will be long, filled with treatments, appointments, and obstacles, but Alexis is meeting it with strength, courage, and determination. She is fighting for her children, her loved ones, and every moment still to come.

Please keep Alexis, Everly, Jagger, Benton, Joe, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers. They are grateful for all the support.

If you would like to make a donation to help Alexis and her family during this difficult time, checks may be made payable to the Kingfisher Action Team with “Alexis Smith” noted in the memo line and delivered to Equity Bank. If donating cash, please be sure to indicate that the donation is for Alexis Smith.

On Sunday, May 31st, a couple of our members spent a few hours of their afternoon cleaning up a yard in Loyal for someone who just needed a little help.

We forgot to take before pictures, but just know it was tall, taller than some of those clearing it.

What a difference a few hours, a w**d eater, a zero-turn riding mower, and a lot of determination can make.

BABY BROOMFIELD UPDATE
After months of a closely monitored high-risk pregnancy, Jeremiah Clyde Broomfield arrived on May 1st, 2026 at 6:59 PM. Delivery went well, and Kayla has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

Following birth, Jeremiah experienced complications and was transferred to the NICU, where he has remained under close care and monitoring. In his first days of life, he required respiratory support and additional medical interventions as doctors worked to stabilize him. While there have been difficult moments along the way, Jeremiah has continued fighting through each challenge with the support of his medical team and family by his side.

Now as of May 11th, Jeremiah is showing steady improvement. Doctors have begun slowly weaning some of his respiratory support and medications as he tolerates it. Progress remains gradual, but the family is celebrating every small victory along the way, including Kayla recently getting to hold him for the first time.

Jhett and Kayla continue to ask for prayers for Jeremiah, their children at home, and their family as they navigate the road ahead. They are also incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love, encouragement, and support they have received throughout this journey.

For those who would like to support the family, donations can be made Equity Bank in Kingfisher. Contributions may be made in person by cash or check, with notes specifying it is for the Broomfield family.

UPDATE ON KAYLA BROOMFIELD
Kayla Broomfield is currently hospitalized in Oklahoma City under high-risk obstetric care as her pregnancy continues to be closely monitored following complications from a placental abruption.

In her most recent update (April 9), Kayla began showing signs concerning for early labor, including recurring contractions and an episode of rebleeding. Medical staff immediately placed her on continuous monitoring and initiated interventions to support both her and the baby.

She received steroid injections to help accelerate the baby’s lung development in the event of a preterm delivery.

The baby remains under close monitoring, and the medical team continues to watch her condition carefully while preparing for the possibility of an early delivery if labor progresses.

During this time, the Kingfisher Action Team has established a donation account through Equity Bank to help support the Broomfield family with immediate expenses. Contributions can be made in cash or by check at Equity Bank, and donors are asked to note that funds are for the Broomfield Family.
