VFW Post 12203 members Jimmy Anderson and Charles Smith went to KHS and visited with Mr Kuyper speech class to talk to them about the importance of Memorial Day. The class will be delivering Memorial Day speech’s in class later this week. This was a great opportunity for them to hear about the importance of Memorial Day from local veterans.

It's been a busy week, and this is what's happening with Post 12203. At or monthly meeting on Thursday evening, we were able to present Allen Parish Sheriff Department Detective Voorhies Leger with a certificate and medal for being the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for the VFW Safety Program.

On Saturday morning at the VFW District 5 meeting in Leesville LA, Post 12203 was recognized for program participation as follows: Riley Johnson was a second place winner for Patriots Pen, Azlynn Kuyper was second place winner for Voice of Democracy, and Eric Kuyper was the second place winner for Teacher of the Year.

We are very grateful of all of those that participated in these programs and congratulate those that won at the Post level and advanced to the District level.

This years Kinder Veterans Day Pancake Breakfast will have something extra afterwards.

A free to the public concert.

We want to welcome Victory Belles to Kinder for a special free concert at The Grand Church on Nov 7th from 10:15-11am
