A Note From the Barn 🐐

We have some news to share, and we want to share it honestly — because that's how we do things at WeeShire Mains.

Barnyard & Badges won't happen this year.

This summer, our founder Sarah went through two major surgeries and now has a long recovery road ahead of her. If you know Sarah, you know sitting still isn't exactly her strong suit — she's the definition of a go-getter. But this season has taught her (and all of us) something new: how to lead from the sidelines. How to be the foreman who points and says "that goes there" instead of the one carrying it herself.

So we made the smart, modest, and humble call: some things have to wait.

Last year, the Kimball Nebraska Police Department showed up for us completely — full support, top to bottom. One of their own officers even volunteered to sit in the dunk tank, soaking wet and laughing, to help raise money for the department. That's the kind of community we get to be part of.

This year, their new chief saw what that day had meant and asked the department's admin what it would take to get ready for the next one. She reached out to us — and we had to say: not this year. Maybe not even soon. But someday, yes.

Because Barnyard & Badges isn't just an event to WeeShire Mains. It's how we hope to build something real — a calm, serene place where families and local law enforcement can connect outside of an emergency. It's part of how we fund the bigger dreams we have for the farm. And it deserves to come back strong, not rushed.

So for now: we heal. We plan. We grow.
