Vermont DMV is honored to receive AAMVA’s 2025 Service Award for our Red Ribbon Tree initiative. In partnership with Vermont Safe Driver and the Vermont Highway Safety Office, we placed Red Ribbon Trees in six DMV offices from Nov 10, 2024, through the New Year.

Each ribbon honors a life lost on Vermont’s roads to impaired or distracted driving. Ali, Newport’s District Office Supervisor, accepted the award at the AAMVA Region I Conference in Lancaster, PA. The annual Red Ribbon Ceremony at the Vermont State House reminds us to remember those we’ve lost and commit to safer choices.

Thank you to AAMVA, our partners, staff, and communities.

Please drive sober and phone-free.

Weekends are busy. Errands, visits, parties...

When our little ones fall asleep in the car it may be tempting to let them finish a nap, but vehicular heat stroke happens quickly. Even on a 70 degree day the vehicle temperature can increase by 20 degrees in 10 minutes.

A child's body heats up 3-5x faster than an adult's body.
Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle.

With summer comes more adventures, road trips, and time with friends.🌻

Just remember that for teen drivers, young passengers increase crash risk. đźš—

Keep talking about passenger restrictions. đź—Łđź—Ł
