Bo***ge may bring to mind ropes and cuffs, yet the art of restraint encompasses so much more!

Wrapture presents the en-wrapturing possibilities of one alternative: mummification! This unique form of bo***ge gradually encases and cocoons the body in layers to create a distinct experience of containment, compression, sensation, and surrender.

In this hands-on class and jam, we’ll explore what makes mummification different and versatile, how to explore safely and intentionally, and the web of options it offers from playful binding and deep pressure swaddling to full immobilization and more intense sensory experiences.

Come learn the fundamentals of mummification and then stay for open practice!

Presenters:

Miss Harissa (she/they)

Miss Harissa is a professional do******ix, rope practitioner, and bo***ge enthusiast. She explores world building, ritual, and immersive experiences to create spaces where play, presence, and trust can unfold. She also hosts a monthly sh***ri figure drawing event called Knotty Sketches.

Chrysalis (He/They)

Chrysalis is a q***r neurodivergent Latino ki****er, organizer, and nerdy creative. As a bo***ge enthusiast & sub, he resonates deeply with B**M as somatic connection, self-expression, and playful co-creation. Chrysalis also organizes monthly munches The Yap and CineMunch as well as facilitates the Bushwick Rope Share.

Getting “Bi” into the name of the 1993 March on Washington took an actual campaign. Lani Kaʻahumanu helped make it happen. 💗💜💙

Today, LgOC’s LGBTQIA+ History Month series highlights this bis*xual writer, organizer, and s*xuality educator of Native Hawaiian, Japanese, and European ancestry.

In 1991, she co-edited Bi Any Other Name: Bis*xual People Speak Out with Loraine Hutchins, bringing bis*xual people’s own stories into a landmark anthology. She then organized a 12-city campaign to include bis*xual people in the march’s name. The result: the March on Washington for Le***an, Gay, and Bi Equal Rights and Liberation.

Her work wasn’t limited to books and speeches. In the early 1990s, she organized the Safer S*x S***s, a group that used humor and skits to make safer-s*x education engaging and pleasure-focused, reaching young le***an and bis*xual women.

Books, national organizing, and s*x education with a sense of humor. There’s a lot to know about Lani beyond the name.
