Our Saturday morning was a true blessing! We were able to help five of God’s precious children with clothing, shoes, hygiene, and school supplies. This sweet family was so thankful to be able to come shopping!

A special thank you to all the individuals and our community partners who help make this possible! God is good, all the time! ✝️

Back to school time is upon us!

As the routine and rigor of the school year returns, is faith a part of your rhythm?

Teachers often talk about the partnership they desire to have with parents so that working together, they can give a child the best education possible.

Faith formation is no different! The church and/or Christian day school partners with parents to help children grow in their faith.

I have come up with 10 ways to foster faith at home. This is NOT a checklist. These are 10 ideas for you to consider. How can these ideas be woven into what you’re already doing?

You are already doing things like eating meals, saying goodbye before school starts, and possibly have a bedtime routine. Can you add a prayer before meals? Bless your kids as they head out the door? Make one of the stories you ready a Bible story from a kids Bible?

Can you adjust how you handle conflict to include, “I forgive you,” after an apology, not just an, “It’s ok”?

If you look at this list of ideas and see some you’re already doing, great! Do you see one you’d want to add?

If you look at this list and think, “There’s no way we can do all that!” You don’t have to. Focus on one or two ideas and see how it goes. This is about helping your child grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus. He knows and loves each of them (and you, too)!

May God bless you this school year!

KERRVILLE-SCHREINER PARK HOSTS FREE POP-UP CARNIVAL AUG. 6-12

In the wake of the devastating flood on July 4, our community has shown incredible strength, resilience, and compassion. As we continue to recover and rebuild together, the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to take a moment to reconnect, recharge and celebrate the spirit of unity that defines us. We are proud to host a FREE Pop-Up Carnival at the beautiful Kerrville-Schreiner Park, a place for laughter, joy and togetherness for all ages, just before school begins. Join us from Wednesday, Aug. 6 to Tuesday, Aug. 12 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day for classic carnival entertainment nestled in nature.

Upon entering Kerrville-Schreiner Park, all guests are asked to stop by the Parks and Recreation Office located at 2385 Bandera Hwy. Park staff will provide directions to Pecan Loop, parking instructions, and any other helpful information to make your visit as smooth as possible. Entry fees will be waived throughout the duration of the event. Please be aware that, due to recent weather events, the river area is closed to the public for safety reasons while cleanup and debris removal are in progress. We thank the community for their understanding and cooperation as we work to restore the area.

For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300, [email protected], visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov, or follow us on Facebook at City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department or Instagram at cityofkerrville.

This morning we were able to bless a sweet little girl who came to live with extended family. She was able to go home with several new outfits, hygiene products, a couple pairs of stylish new shoes, a cute pair of skates, and much more. These items will help her through this transition with some comfort and confidence!
