AARP Michigan recently interviewed Pamela Alderman about Healing in Arts’ veteran programs and the healing power of creativity. Through our Art of Resilience workshops, veterans find connection, purpose, and a safe space to share their stories through art. We've seen firsthand how creative expression can reduce isolation, build community, and foster hope. Veterans like Laszlo, an amputee Marine combat veteran, remind us why this work matters. As Laszlo shared, “This art project saved my life.” Thank you to AARP for helping shine a light on the impact of art in the veteran community through Art of Resilience Veterans.

In collaboration with Marge's Misfits, we brought the healing power of art to veterans in our local community. Some veterans created beautiful self-portraits, and others, creative flag designs in tribute to America's 250th 💙

Art of Resilience is our continued efforts to amplify veteran voices and stories of healing through art. Helping veterans find their artistic voices is one of our greatest joys. We look forward to showcasing more of their work at this year's ArtPrize! 💙

We had a wonderful time at Sacred Beginnings' Freedom Takes Flight Gala! Collaborating with them in the fight against human trafficking is of great importance to us. The work they do in our community - helping disempowered women and children stuck in cycles of abuse - is vital. Thanks for having us !
