We took a field trip to Quilted Ewe up in New Hartford this rainy morning. The selection is enormous and the staff were so happy and helpful! Thank you!

We can't wait for Veralyn's class on Sunday. Check out our events to learn more about joining us and what you need.

Kent Quilters met 4 times this winter to learn how to quilt-as-you-go, lead by Salome! Thank you, Salome!

This completed group quilt is for Camp Compassion, which will be held locally at Club Getaway in mid-May. This is a quilt-as-you-go courthouse steps. The colored strips are batiks. We alternated the colors with white-on-cream background, sourced from the group member's stashes.

The backing of the quilt is black and white print that came from our stashes! So fun to see everyone's fabrics coming together.

Thank you to Veralyn for finishing the group QAYG, binding it, and handing it off to the Camp Compassion coordinators. As always, fantastic work.

Many hands make light work! Eight quilters met at Kent Town Hall to put together a group quilt for Camp Compassion, which will be hosted at Club Getaway in May.

Over the last few meetings in February and March, Salome has been leading quilt-as-you-go (QAYG) tutorials for the Kent Quilters. We are focusing on growing our skills this year. We are lucky to have so many talented members that are willing to share their favorite methods!

If you have any quilts (made by you or collected) that you would like to show off, please see the information below to register.

I would like to invite our friend of the Roger Sherman Chapter and the New Milford Celebrates A250 committee to participate in the 2026 Airing of the Quilts on May 8 and 9. We are hoping to have 250 quilts on display at two of our beautiful churches on the New Milford Green.

Many of our quilters enjoyed being inside sewing between bouts of shoveling! We got 15" on the flood plain of the east bank of the Housatonic River.

Each year for TradesUp SPARK, Andrew, the director of Eric Sloane Museum, graciously allows the Kent Quilters to be inside the cabin. Fabric and bad weather do not mix 🙅‍♀️so this is the perfect venue for our historic trades activities!

Last year we noticed that the cot had a ragged army blanket on it, so three Kent Quilters got to work! Barbara Marcone, Jane Zatlin, and Jo Mellis worked on this for the better part of a year.

Today at Spark, it was unveiled to the public!

Using Barbara’s civil war reproduction prints and Jane's leftover muslin from pattern making, the three women created the "chimney sweep" blocks and spent the summer hand-quilting it.

It will be hung in the museum over the winter. ❄️
