This may come as a surprise to some, but Community Creatives isn't a music school. We are a greenhouse...where care, purpose, and hope grow. 🎹❤️

Music is simply our vehicle.

It's what gives us the opportunity to sit across from a child every single week. To know their name. To hear about their day. To celebrate their wins. To pray for their families. To notice when something isn't quite right. To remind them that they matter, they are valued, and their lives have purpose.

We want them to become great musicians. There's nothing like watching a student master a song, perform on stage, or discover a gift they didn't know they had. But more than that, we want them to know they have people in their corner, to experience genuine care and encouragement, and ultimately, to encounter the hope and love of Jesus.

Every January, we talk to our students about dreaming big.

We encourage them to dream about what’s possible, turn those dreams into goals, and then turn those goals into action steps. Because a dream becomes something tangible when we’re willing to put in the work to pursue it.

That’s exactly why we named our annual recital DREAM BIG.

What we teach in January, we get to watch come to life in October. ❤️

Dream Big is more than a recital. It’s a celebration of what can happen when our kids learn to dream it, set the goal, make a plan, and take action.

So incredibly proud of this girl! With 40 weeks of lessons, 5 pages of music, and countless hours of practice, determination, and discipline - she completed the "Turkish March" this week!!! 🤯🤯🤯 This is NOT an easy song.

We're now putting the finishing touches on it. She'll be performing this song for the first time at our Dream Big recital this October!!

We can't wait for you to hear it!!

We're a little late on this post, but we didn't want the moment to pass without giving honor where honor is due.

Back in 2022, we were searching relentlessly for a place to hold our music lessons. We knew God put this vision in our hearts, and we knew the exact neighborhood He was calling us to serve. 9 months had passed, and we were met with so many closed doors.

Through a wonderful mutual friend, we were introduced to Pastor Kaseem Short. From the very beginning, when he heard about our mission, he didn't hesitate. He welcomed us into Thomas Church with open arms and gave us a place to grow.

For the past 4 years, we've held weekly music lessons, community events, outreaches, recitals, and celebrations for our students there. Through it all, Pastor Kaseem has encouraged us, prayed for us, and continually championed the work God is doing through Community Creatives.

As he begins this new assignment, leaving Thomas Church and leading another, we simply want to say thank you. Thank you for believing in a small nonprofit with a big dream! Thank you for making room for our students. Thank you for every prayer, every conversation, every word of encouragement, and every way you've helped us continue serving the children of this community.

We know God has incredible things ahead and your new church is gaining the best "servant leader". No doubt - you'll bless that community the same way you've blessed ours.

We love you, Pastor Kaseem. Thank you for being a main character in the Community Creatives story. ❤️
