The final video of our intro mini series: how do we fit into the greater exercise oncology universe?

There are so many people who are working tirelessly in this field and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the building momentum in exercise oncology.

Progress is not linear. There will be ups and downs and that’s ok. Expect it. Give yourself grace to start exercising again and ask for help when you need it!

Huge shout out to the many physical therapists that have kept me going over the years and to the stubbornness that keeps me exercising over and over again.

What is a cancer adventurer? CCSC intro video 3 of 5!

Continuing our cancer can suck a cactus background mini series, here is video 2 of 5: why is our foundation community?

Watch our last video to find out how we got here. Watch our next video to find out more about the term “cancer adventurer”!

I filmed a short series of videos for our cancer adventurer grant recipients focusing on how we got here, the impact of community, where the term “cancer adventurer” came from, navigating setbacks, and lessons from the exercise oncology conference last month. I thought they might be helpful for a wider audience!

This is part 1 of 5 in the series that will come out over the next few weeks focused on how the nonprofit started.

Gear shipped yesterday and is already arriving today!

Thank you to my little helper Olive who participated from start to end. She gathered most of the supplies while I filled out the checks and packaged it all up 😊 she applied the final stickers to the outside of the packages too so you know each item was sent with love.

Training plans went out yesterday and virtual training sessions kick off in 2 weeks with Maple Tree Cancer Alliance

It’s all coming together! Already looking forward to race day in November 🌵

Thank you all for being on this adventure with me! What started as a funny idea to run my first ever 10k to my last chemo infusion as a cancer research fundraiser turned into a nonprofit that helps other cancer adventurers get moving.

Because of so many of you, I felt supported in my cancer adventure and now Cancer Can Suck a Cactus is on a mission to empower and enable exercise for others so they feel supported too.

5 years feels like forever and just yesterday. No one knows what the next 5 years will bring but every day I plan to tell cancer to suck it, and I hope you do too. I can’t wait to share everything we learn at the conference with you all!
