The ocean doesn’t care about your rank or your MOS. It only cares about the trim of the sail and the person sitting next to you.

Our recent inshore sails have been exactly that. Getting veterans, first responders and their families out where the air is saltier and the noise of the world is a little quieter. It’s not always about grand crossings, sometimes it’s just about finding your sea legs again with the people who actually get it.

Grit, community and a little bit of peace. That’s our mission.

A lot of hard work has gone into getting Encore ready for the spring season and it’s all because of these guys!

“Stillness can be strength.” Those are the words of Colm Walker, a Skeleton Crew Adventures alum currently sailing solo from San Diego to Panama.

We are beyond proud to see Yachting Monthly highlight Colm’s mission! After leading soldiers in Afghanistan and recovering from a devastating injury, Colm is back in the water to prove that the hardest journeys often lead to the most peace.

We are raising $15,000 to ensure Colm has the safety gear and Panama transit fees needed to complete this qualifier to the 2026 Golden Globe Race.

Let’s show Colm we have his back while he’s out there in the silence.

Ahead of the 2026 Golden Globe Race, Veteran Colm Walker shares his mediative approach to solo sailing, and how his military background shapes his journey.

Skeleton Crew Adventures member Colm Walker, Army vet/82nd Airborne/combat veteran, is setting his sights on the 2026 Golden Globe Race, one of the most grueling sailing challenges on the planet.

You might remember the name. Colm sailed with us on Godspeed for the Ocean Globe Race. Now he’s going further, alone, aboard Mo Chuisle, a classic Tawana 37 he’s restored.

This isn’t a race. It’s a mission. Colm sails to raise awareness for veteran mental health.

Taylor put together a video that says it better than we ever could! Watch it, share it and if you’re able, throw some support behind the mission: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/from-godspeed-to-ggr-support-colm-walkers-mission-for-veteran-mental-health

Let’s get Colm to the start line!

Every sail starts the same way: a vessel, a crew and a horizon worth chasing.

This video captures a real day for our inshore program. Prepping the boat, feeling the wind catch and sharing the ocean with a community that get its.

Were a nonprofit built for veterans and first responders, and this? This is exactly what it’s all about.
