Tri-County 4-H Camp Recap

What a wonderful week at 4-H Camp! Kellyville 4-H was represented by 7 campers, 3 teen counselors, and 3 adult volunteers.

Our campers had an amazing time participating in workshops, games, swimming, crafts, and team-building activities. They made lots of fun projects, new friends, and memories that will last a lifetime. It was wonderful to watch them learn new skills, build confidence, and represent Kellyville 4-H so well.

We are incredibly thankful for our outstanding group of campers and teen counselors. Their positive attitudes, leadership, and willingness to help others made camp a great experience for everyone.

A special thank you goes to Patti, who organized and ran the kitchen throughout camp. Her hard work, planning, and dedication ensured that everyone was well-fed and taken care of all week long. We are so grateful for the many hours she spent making camp a success.

Thank you also to our adult volunteers for all of their support and to Miranda for safely driving the campers to and from camp.

We are blessed to have such an amazing group of youth, teen leaders, volunteers, and families in Kellyville 4-H. Thank you all for helping make this year’s camp such a memorable experience. We can’t wait to see what next year brings!

🌱🍅 School Garden Update! 🥒🧅

As the school year came to an end, our students were excited to see the results of all their hard work in the school garden! Throughout the season, they helped prepare beds, plant seeds, water, w**d, and care for the garden.

So far, we've harvested onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, eggplant, and turnips! The students loved watching their vegetables grow from tiny seeds into healthy plants ready for harvest.

The garden has provided hands-on learning opportunities in science, nutrition, responsibility, and teamwork while helping students connect with where their food comes from. We are proud of all the hard work our young gardeners put into making this season a success!

A big thank you to everyone who helped support our school garden program. We can't wait to see what grows next! 🌿☀️

Garden update! 🌱

Wow—it is doing amazing! Everything is flowering—squash, zucchini, watermelon, tomatoes, potatoes, and cucumbers. We’ve already harvested green beans, soybeans, lettuce, and some HUGE radishes and onions!

We love seeing everything grow, and the kids are loving watching the progress too. 🌿💚

So proud of our Kellyville 4-H kids for competing in the Creek County Rally 4-H Speech Contest! We had 5 participants, and every single one brought home a ribbon—what an accomplishment!

Results:
• Eithne Weihl – Senior Individual Speech, Champion of her category and Blue Ribbon

• Landon Hutchins – Senior Individual Speech, Red Ribbon

• Reagan Hutchins – Intermediate Extemporaneous, Red Ribbon

• Spencer VanKalsbeek – Junior Individual Regular Speech, Blue Ribbon; Junior Illustrated Speech, Blue Ribbon

• Jolene McGrew – Junior Team Speech, Blue Ribbon & Champion Overall category; Junior Individual Regular Speech, Blue Ribbon & Champion Overall category. 

We are so proud of these kids for representing their school and our 4-H club so well! We are also incredibly thankful our club had the opportunity to host this event at Kellyville. We hope this is just the beginning of many more speech contests to come!

The school garden is looking amazing today! We spent time w**ding the beds and getting everything cleaned up and ready to grow.

We want to give a huge thank you to Bob and the Smoot family for mowing and helping clean up our school garden area this past weekend. Your hard work and support help make this space beautiful for our students to learn and grow in! 💚

We are so thankful for families and community members who continue to pour into our school and support our kids!
