Now that feelings have calmed down from all parties, I feel this is something our organization needs to address:
There’s been a lot of discussion circulating about our 14U team following the recent tournament, and I want to take a moment to address it directly.
First and foremost, our players competed hard and represented Katy Lone Star with heart all weekend. I’m incredibly proud of the effort, sportsmanship, and teamwork these kids showed on the field.
Regarding the comments about an “illegal bat,” we take equipment rules seriously and always do our best to follow tournament guidelines. If any concern was raised during the event, we addressed it through the proper channels with tournament officials. At the youth level, our priority is teaching these young men the game the right way through respect, accountability, and love for baseball.
It’s unfortunate to see negative comments directed at a group of young men who worked extremely hard and should be celebrated for their performance.
We stand by our players and the way they competed. Win or lose, the goal is to develop young athletes, good teammates, and good people.
Thank you to the families, supporters, and organizers who made the tournament a great experience for them.
See you all on the field!
