Welcome to our band family Mr. Garrison!
We are excited to share that Mr. Preston Garrison will be joining the Seven Lakes Band as our new Assistant Band Director!
Mr. Garrison brings a strong background in music education, performance, and student leadership development. A graduate of the University of North Texas, he performed as a horn player in a wide range of ensembles, including Wind Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Green Brigade Marching Band, Brass Band, Jazz Strings, Horn Choir, Chamber Ensembles, and Steel Pan Band.
Prior to Seven Lakes, Mr. Garrison worked as a field technician at Coppell High School and Vines High School, where he specialized in brass instruction, marching fundamentals, and sectional leadership.
He completed his student teaching at Panther Creek High School and Wilkinson Middle School in Frisco, TX, where he assisted with the marching band, taught beginning brass and woodwinds, and helped support Panther Creek’s UIL 4A Area Championship and Bronze Medal finish at the UIL 4A State Marching Contest.
Mr. Garrison also brings extensive Drum Corps International performance experience, having marched with Guardians in 2019, Blue Stars in 2023, and Bluecoats in 2024 and 2025. During his time with Bluecoats, the corps earned multiple caption awards, including Best Brass in 2024, Best Visual in 2024 and 2025, Best General Effect in 2024 and 2025, and the 2024 DCI World Championship.
We are excited for the next chapter of the Seven Lakes Band and thrilled to have Mr. Garrison joining us on this journey!
