Karnes County Jr Horse Club We are a youth (18 & under) horsemanship organization with a summer play day series in Karnes County.

We are sorry to inform everyone that we are no longer going to continue the KCJHC play days. We have become far too busy to continue. We would like to thank everyone who helped out or donated time or money to help. We would also like to thank our riders for showing up and making it what it was.

Our page is finally unlocked, and we can post results from our final ride night of the 2024 Summer Series! 🐴

Additionally, we want to thank the numerous parents who added to our donation jar this summer. Every bit helps and goes directly to awards for the kids!! This year, saddles were awarded to 1st place, buckles to 2nd place, saddle pads to 3rd, head stalls to 4th, halters to 5th and saddle bags to 6th place in each unassisted class. Plus, buckles were awarded to 37 lead line riders who participated in all 3 ride nights this summer.

This summer, we had a total of 52 lead line riders, 10 riders in the 14 to 18 class, 26 riders in the 9 to 13 class, and 28 riders in the 8 & Under class.

You may text your entries for Sunday’s playday starting Saturday at 1pm until Sunday at noon (830-534-3101). If you are unable to text during that time frame, then you will need to sign up in the announcer’s box on Sunday before 5pm.

Sunday the 30th we will start at 5pm sharp. Get there and get entered and ready to ride by 5. That goes for the older age group, too. We don’t have the manpower to sit and wait for you to enter while we try to run it at the same time. We will do lead line and then give them their awards. Once that is done we will do the 3 older age groups and then give their awards. Be on time and be ready. It’s FREE so I don’t want to hear any whining if you don’t get to ride because you are late. SIGN UP BY 5 when the first lead line participant will start.

We are still on for tomorrow. You must be signed up by 5 to participate. Please do not wait until the last minute. We will start 14-18, 9-13, and 8 and under as soon as lead line is over. Remember, no adults on horses. If an adult must ride they may do so in the parking lot. Do not tie or strap children to the saddle. Be ready to go when we call your name, please. Listen for your order during lead line, once the person in front of you finishes the barrels you may start. IF YOU ARE IN LEAD LINE YOU MUST LEAD THEM. If you want to run in front of them, then sign up for the other classes too. You can do lead line and the other classes,too.

Don’t forget that the play days start o the 19th. We will start at 5 and it’s free. Please get signed up before 5 and be there on time. Lead line will go first and it doesn’t take long. All the older children need to be signed up and ready to go by 5 as well.

Lead line will do barrels and poles.
All other events will be barrels, poles, and dummy roping.
